Manufacturer Qualifications: Provide support systems components and accessories, including clamps and support pads from a single manufacturer who has minimum five years experience manufacturing similar components.

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.

WARRANTY

Manufacturer warrants its support bases and assemblies to be free from defect and shall repair or replace defective parts or workmanship on the rooftop pipe support line for a period of years as follows:

1 Year Limited Warranty:

5 Year: Provide roof inspection report at (3) three years from the documented date of substantial project completion.

Up to and including 20 Years: Provide roof inspection report every (2) two years from the date of substantial project completion. Report shall be provided to manufacturer within (30) thirty days of inspection.

Manufacturer shall not warrant rusting that is not detrimental to the integrity of the support, and damage caused by incorrect installation or improper usage. Recovery rights shall be limited to the total sum of the amounts paid for the product by the purchaser.

MECHANICAL PIPE SUPPORTS

Provide piping support system complying with layout, elevations, slope and support frequency as indicated or required to comply with referenced or applicable codes and ordinances. Installation shall eliminate potential for stress on piping runs, fittings, bends and terminations. Isolate materials to prevent galvanic reaction and abrasive damage due to thermal expansion and vibration. Installation shall not exceed weight capacity of support.

Supports shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with, MSS SP-58-2002 and MSS SP-69-2002. Seismic and wind resistant applications are manufactured to conform to MSS SP-127-2001.

Pipe supports manufacture and installation shall comply with the 2003 International Fuel Gas Code:

"Pipe hangers and supports shall conform to the requirements of MSS SP-58 and shall be spaced in accordance with Section 415... not to interfere with the free expansion and contraction of the piping..." (Section 407.2)

"...where installed across roof surfaces, shall be elevated not less than 3-1/2 inches (152 mm) above the roof surface." (Section 404)

The Standard Duty supports provide the user with greater range of adjustment than similar products in the market, while maintaining their standing as an affordable option for light to medium duty piping. All nylon-based supports configurations utilize stainless steel hardware and either a hard cast rubber roller, aluminum strut and/or cushioned clamps. A neoprene pad is adhered to the base to provide further protection to the roof membrane and often eliminates the need to purchase additional walk pad protection. Fiberglass Non-penetrating Adjustable Rooftop Pipe Supports - Standard Duty:

General: Pipe support base shall combine UV protected 33 percent fiberglass reinforced 6/6 Nylon with an adjustable stainless steel threaded rod and axel assembly and which securely attaches to the base. Base for support shall have flat solid lower surface with neoprene roof pad adhered to bottom surface. Pad shall provide for cushion between support and roof surface.

The threaded rod assembly can be adjusted to allow piping to be installed level or when used with condensate piping, rods can be adjusted to ensure proper flow. Single Post Support: Provide single post adjustable support with stainless steel pipe clamp containing a UV treated rubber cushion for separation of dissimilar metals and vibration dampening. Products shall be:

Heavy-Duty Walk Pads: To provide additional protection to the roof, support assembly shall include roof isolation pads to be placed under supports. Isolation pads shall be 1/2 inch (13 mm) 100 percent recycled black rubber design, sized and provided by MAPA Products.

The non-adjustable base assembly is manufactured from a fiberglass reinforced 6/6 Nylon with a rubberized protective coated metal corner assembly which is then covered with a neoprene pad. The neoprene pad adhered to the base provides additional protection for the roof. Delete if not required.

Equipment Support Base: Products shall be:

Metal Non-Penetrating Adjustable Pipe Supports for Roof Mounted Piping and Equipment - Heavy Duty:

General: Pipe support base to be manufactured of grade 304 stainless steel with an adjustable stainless steel threaded rod and axel assembly, which shall securely attach to base. Supports shall be spaced so that weights are evenly distributed.

The rubber pipe roller cradles the piping while allowing it the freedom of movement due to thermal expansion. The MS-2.5RA7shall support gas piping from 1/2 inch (13 mm) up to 3 inches (76 mm).

MS-12SA7: Use as an adjustable low profile medium duty strut support for conduit installed on single ply and built-up roofs. MS-12SA7 shall support up to 4 conduits or can be utilized for securing refrigeration line sets or natural gas piping when thermal expansion is not a concern.

MS-4RA7: Use as an adjustable low profile light to medium duty pipe support stand for natural gas piping installed on single ply and built-up roofs. The rubber pipe roller cradles the piping while allowing it the freedom of movement due to thermal expansion. The MS-4RA7shall support gas piping from 1/2 inch (13 mm) up to 3 inches (76 mm).

MS-5RA7: Use as an adjustable low profile medium duty pipe support stand for natural gas piping installed on single ply and built-up roofs. The rubber pipe roller cradles the piping while allowing it the freedom of movement due to thermal expansion. The MS-5RA7shall support gas piping from 2-1/2 inches (64 mm) up to 5 inches (127 mm).

Product: Value Line Series, low profile supports with fixed height as manufactured by MAPA Products.

MS-10SF4: Use as a 4 inches (102 mm) fixed height light duty strut support for conduit installed on single ply and built-up roofs. The MS-10SF4 shall easily accommodate a single 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) conduit or multiple smaller conduits. Support can be utilized for securing refrigeration line sets or natural gas piping when thermal expansion is not a concern.

MS-12SF4: Use as a 4 inches (102 mm) fixed height medium duty strut support for conduit installed on single ply and built-up roofs. The MS-10SF4 shall support up to 4 -1 inch (25 mm) conduits. Support can be utilized for securing refrigeration line sets or natural gas piping when thermal expansion is not a concern.

MS-4RF3: Use as a 4 inches (102 mm) fixed height low profile light to medium duty pipe support stand for natural gas piping where vertical adjustment in not an issue. The rubber pipe roller cradles the piping while allowing it the freedom of movement due to thermal expansion. The MS-4RF3 shall support gas piping from 1/2 inch (13 mm) up to 4 inches (102 mm).

MS-5RF3: Use as a 4 inches (102 mm) fixed height low profile light to medium duty pipe support stand for natural gas piping where vertical adjustment in not an issue. The rubber pipe roller cradles the piping while allowing it the freedom of movement due to thermal expansion. The MS-5RF3 shall support gas piping from 1/2 inch (13 mm) up to 5 inches (127 mm).

Roof Top Pedestal Hydrants:

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The dome handle enables the user to operate the valve assembly while preventing rainwater from entering the enclosure. The hydrant utilizes the best of the Nibco globe valves within a fully insulated stainless steel shroud. The "drain down design" of the MPH-24FP hydrant operates on the venturi principle and is a cooperative effort based on the design of the sanitary yard hydrants manufactured by "Hoeptner Products." When the hydrant is OFF, the stopper seals against the nozzle and stops flow. The water remaining in the riser drains back into the reservoir tank below the roofline. When the hydrant is ON, the flow through the nozzle creates a vacuum in the reservoir evacuating the water out through the hydrant. A brass valve float assembly located on the stainless shroud allows air to escape from the reservoir as the tank fills and allows air to enter the tank as the vacuum force evacuates the water from the tank. A quick disconnect provided allows a hose to be readily removed when not in use so as to insure proper evacuation of the reservoir during freezing conditions. The Under-deck Flange prevents the Hydrant from becoming dislodged from the roof membrane during operation. The Weather-Guard Domed Handle prevents moisture from entering the assembly when the valve is in the OFF position. Supply connection is made at the 3/4 inch (19 mm) fitting located at the base of the Hydrant. The unit is provided with an under-deck support flange and mounting hardware. This flange when secured to structural angle supports at the roof deck will prevent disruption of the roof flashing during normal operation. Refer to installation procedures for specific instructions on installing the hydrant. Hydrant is also available for use in landscapes where the stainless base and under deck flange are omitted and replaced with an anchoring collar allowing the hydrant to be securely located in the ground. Delete if not required.

Freeze Resistant Pedestal Hydrant:

At each location on roof where roof hydrant is shown on plans provide MPH-24 Pedestal Hydrant as manufactured by MAPA Products.

The MPH-24FP:24/9 shall comply with ASSE 1057 Sanitary Yard Hydrant Standard.

Hydrant shall be provided complete with fully insulated stainless steel shroud, seamlessly welded flashing, under deck flange and Weather-Guard Dome handle.

Composition: Black powder coated cast aluminum Weather-Guard Dome Handle.

Material: Grade 304 stainless steel shroud w/ welded stainless steel flange.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The MPH-24 Pedestal Hydrant with its Weather-Guard Dome provides a 24" tall weather resistive hose station at required rooftop locations. The dome handle enables the user to operate the valve assembly while preventing rainwater from entering the enclosure. The Pedestal Hydrant is furnished with R-8 piping insulation and will withstand semi-severe cold weather for limited time periods. It is equipped with a drain-down fitting so that the hydrant can be drained during anticipated extreme severe cold weather. Features: The unit is provided with an under-deck support flange and mounting hardware. This flange when secured to structural angle supports at the roof deck will prevent disruption of the roof flashing during normal operation. Industrial Control Station and Companion Enclosures:

Control Panel:

At each location as shown on plans, provide an MAPA Products - Industrial Control Station. Panel shall be brushed stainless steel with concealed wall box provided with panel service switch, low voltage transformer and fuse block.

Panel shall have integral printed circuit board with logic device to provide 120-vac output circuits to activate utilities as shown on drawings. Number of output circuits as noted on drawings. Activation of output circuits shall be enabled only by switch ON and then keying.

The Panel shall be equipped with a service switch for each output circuit, and a momentary enabling key switch. Deactivation of output circuits shall not require engagement of enabling key. Panel shall be provided with N/O momentary panic button assembly to deactivate output circuits in case of emergency. Reset after panic shall occur by re-keying.

Provide panel with additional terminals for integration of MAPA Products Remote Panic Button Assembly, and opto-isolated input terminal for integration with facility's alarm system. A fire alarm signal shall deactivate all utilities controlled by the ICS Panel.

Solenoids:

Furnish and install MAPA Products Series 100 normally closed general service zero differential solenoids at each utility service. Solenoid coil shall be 120-vac. Provide a ball valve up-stream from solenoid and wye strainer on all fluid delivery systems. Thoroughly flush piping system prior to placing into service. Final connection to coil from Control Panel by electrical contractor. Solenoids shall close upon loss of operating power and require re-keying for reactivation of service. Provide solenoids in MAPA Products Pre-assembled Solenoid Enclosure, Model # MSE-111-120 vac-X-X-K. Solenoid sized as shown on drawings.

ELECTRICAL CONDUIT SUPPORTS

Provide piping support system complying with layout, elevations, slope and support frequency as indicated or required to comply with referenced or applicable codes and ordinances. Installation shall eliminate potential for stress on piping runs, fittings, bends and terminations. Isolate materials to prevent galvanic reaction and abrasive damage due to thermal expansion and vibration.

Supports shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with, MSS SP-58-2002 and MSS SP-69-2002. Seismic and wind resistant applications are manufactured to conform to MSS SP-127-2001.

Fiberglass Non-Penetrating Adjustable Pipe Supports for Electrical Conduit:

Light to Medium Duty - Conduit support base shall combine UV protected 33 percent fiberglass reinforced 6/6 Nylon with an adjustable stainless steel threaded rod and axel assembly and which securely attaches to the base. Base for Pipe Support shall have flat solid lower surface with neoprene roof pad adhered to bottom surface. Pad shall provide for cushion between support and roof surface. The Stainless Shroud with integrally welded deck flange enables a positive weather-tight flash of the unit to the roof membrane without the need for additional flashing or pitch-pan. The need to interrupt electrical service remotely in the case or equipment change-out can be avoided since service disconnect is mounted adjacent to rather than onto the equipment. PEDESTAL MOUNTED ELECTRICAL DISCONNECT

Provide Stainless Steel Pedestal Discount as manufactured by MAPA Products at all roof-mounted equipment. Disconnects shall be configured per engineers schedule with voltage ratings suitable for normal voltage of the equipment with which they are to be applied.

Mount pedestal within 6 feet of the equipment served and at the direction of the engineer.

Stainless flange shall rest on top of built-up roofing insulation and material for flashing to roof membrane provided by roofing contractor.

Disconnects are furnished with NEMA 3R Rainproof enclosure. The switch is provided with handle suitable for padlocking in the OFF position. Defeat-able front accessible door prevents opening of switch when in ON position or turning the switch ON when the door is open.

Construction: Each pedestal shall be furnished complete with stainless steel shroud, seamlessly welded flashing, under-deck flange, termination cable, and GFCI convenience outlet and control port.

ELECTRICAL UTILITY PEDESTAL

The Standard Stainless Steel Shroud extends above roof line 36 inches (914 mm) with an additional 12 inches (305 mm) beneath the roofline shroud to permit the unit to be securely fastened to the roof structural member by securing the under-deck mounting flange to a welded deck flange. The roof flange is provided with fastening hardware to enable the installer to secure the flange first against the shroud and then onto a deck flange.

Pedestals are furnished completely assembled. Leads for connection to the power source below the roofline are shielded in Flexible Metal Conduit. Wiring and Conduit sizes are according to industry standards and NEC. All fixtures are within NEMA 3R rainproof enclosures. Connections exposed to weather are made liquid tight. MPX-20 Utility Pedestals are max rated 20 amps.

Construction:

EXAMINATION

Do not begin installation until substrates and roof membrane have been properly prepared.

If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

PREPARATION

Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

INSTALLATION

Pipe Supports: Supports shall be spaced so weights are evenly distributed typically 6 feet to 10 feet (1828 mm to 3048 mm) apart unless otherwise indicated. Supports shall be positioned so that piping rests evenly on the base without undo strain. Coordinate exact support locations with roofing work. Maintain minimum 6 inch (152 mm) clearance above roof for all piping.

Bridging Assembly: Supports shall be spaced 6 feet (1829 mm) to 10 feet (3048 mm) apart or as indicated. Natural gas piping shall be suspended above the bridge utilizing a MS-3A5 Roller Assembly. Condensate lines shall be mounted above the bridge with an MS-AA5 or MS-AA9 adjustable assembly. Use manufacturer recommended clamps to secure refrigeration lines and conduits.

Using the adjustment feature the assemblies shall be set to allow for gravity flow to designated drain.

Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
