Fry’s Sight Words

We will be reviewing sight words this week and begin learning new ones. We will work with several words a day and we will do progress checks periodically in the classroom. I will send a list home with each student for parents to practice with their child.

The short week didn’t give us much time to work on our sights words last week. We will be working on the following words again this week…

name good

think say

great where

help through

man sentence

Parents, please remember to send a note with your child any time there is a transportation change.

Thanks!

Homework

Please complete the appropriate day in the word study packet and the math packet each night. Also continue to work on addition and subtraction facts and sight words.

No homework on Wednesday!

Please do each night’s homework on the assigned night. The purpose of homework is daily practice.

If your child is a car rider in the morning, they must be at the lunchroom before 8:00 a.m. in order to eat breakfast at school. Breakfast begins at 7:40.

If you need to change your child’s regular transportation, please send a note that morning.

If you must call the school, please do so by 2:00 with the change. Sending a note that morning in the red folder is the best way to change transportation.

Parents,

Thanks to everyone who came and helped at our fall party and to everyone who sent in supplies. The kids really had a good time! The fair is over and Halloween is behind us. I have told the kids that we have a lot to do now that the fun and distracting stuff is over. We are working so hard to get our kids reading and writing! Please help us by reminding them to always try their best and to be good listeners. Also, please make sure that you are reading with them as much as possible. I know we are all busy, but this is the one thing that can really make a difference in your child’s reading. Thanks for all you do!
