The Jack A. Proctor Virginia Building Code Academy is pleased to announce schedule for the 2012 Code Change Training series. The Academy will conduct four sessions across the state:July 15-17: Western Virginia/Wytheville areaJuly 29-31: Northern Virginia areaAugust 12-14: Metro Richmond areaSeptember 16-18: Tidewater areaThe code change training session agenda is as follows:Day One (Tuesday) – Building codesDay Two (Wednesday) – Administrative and related codesDay Three (Thursday) – TradesThe classroom schedule is three days and each day must be attended in full (no partial days) however students can attend all three days consecutively, spread over multiple offerings in various locations, or in combination with the on-line training sessions. Students should register for classroom sessions through the JPVBCA Online Registration System: . Although offered consecutively each day of training is a stand-alone event and as such students will register for each day of training separately. Lunch and a student companion guide will be provided during training. New for this cycle of code change training is the availability of lodging the evening prior to each day of training. Additionally, individual courses will be available online as self-study modules through the Jack A. Proctor Virginia Building Code Academy Knowledge Center. We expect these courses to become available in mid-July, and will give code officials another great way to learn about significant changes to the 2012 building codes.
