• sport-auto praises outstanding grip, balanced dynamic handling, low rolling resistance and low tire/road noise

• Winter tire for sports cars, luxury class models and SUVs wins through against nine competitors

Hanover, October 13, 2017. In its winter tire test published today (issue 11/17) specialist car magazine sport auto awarded the WinterContact TS 850 P from Continental its top “highly recommended” rating. The journalists tested a total of 10 size 225/40 R 18 V tires from international manufacturers, fitted to a Toyota GT86. “Outstanding grip, balanced dynamic handling on snow-covered and wet roads, low rolling resistance and a very quiet tire,” they wrote about the WinterContact TS 850 P on completing the test runs. In all, they tested the Continental tire in 19 different disciplines, in eight of which the WinterContact TS 850 P scored maximum points.

The tires on test came from European, American and Asian manufacturers. The magazine advises against buying two of the models tested owing to weak performances on snow and in the wet.

The WinterContact TS 850 P is designed for luxury class cars, sports cars and SUVs. A wide range of different sizes are manufactured and Continental has currently received almost 50 original equipment approvals from automakers.
