Gigi: Gabby: Is there any consolidated place to find all of these resources? Gigi: more than happy to share powerpoint They are working on this now Samuel:Q1: Stacy: so many strings, need multiple reports, Q2: Is there a protocol to where those revenue from patents go? If you are an inventor and you patent something, and there is a financial gain, 42% goes to school, and portion goes back to research office. They make a wide range of investments How do these agreements/grants flow?Alex: To what degree is the senior honors project/thesis standardized across departments? Standardized within departments Revital: So many resources, can be overwhelming, especially as a first year. Nicky: For degree granting opportunities abroad, how are research grants distributed? Stacie: Very good and complicated question. Gov’t is so averse to distributing money to folks that are not. U.S. citizens. NYU AD provides local grants to their research community and it is usually enough. NYU Shanghai not eligible for any US federal research funding. Zainab: Are there any efforts to be done in the Leslie E-Lab to increase diversity? Is there anything being done?Stacie: We are actively trying to increase diversity in that space. “Female Founders” program series in development. Samuel + Kosar: We will be working closely with the Academic Affairs CommitteeRobbie: Chris: Is this going to be implemented only on NYU’s academic calendars or required for all schools? Nursing does not follow the academic calendarsSamuel: Professional schools will likely not follow this because they are professional. The ask of this resolution is to make a change University-wide for entities that follow the academic calendar.Victoria: What other routes are you all prepared to take if this resolution is denied? Kosar: Resolutions do have some compromise with the ask before it goes to University Senate. The resolution will likely go through heavy revisions.Kevin (Stern alternate senator): When Fordham and Columbia implemented this in 2016, were the results worthy of changing?Kosar: We do not have access to that information because reports are school specific and are sometimes even hard to be accessed by students. Sam: There has not been a NLV report since Columbia implemented this so there is actually no data availablePalak: Is there an example of how classes will be made up? Kosar: We will look into it!Letter of Support for Academic Accommodations for Religious HolidaysPresented by Revital Chavel, Senator at-Large for Jewish StudentsFocuses on policy recommendations and implementationTeodora: I do not feel like this letter makes a strong case for religious holidays that are not Jewish. It could be even stronger if it adds more information about other religions. Revital: Focus on Jewish holidays because she represents Jewish students. There is another letter for Ramadan (a Muslim holiday) that includes other resolutionsSamuel: Is this worthy of a resolution?Revital: It started as a letter because she was not a Senator when it was first drafted and you had to be a Senator to write a resolution and it carried throughChris: No question, just a comment that this letter is importantSave the Dates Student Government Assembly Meeting Thursday, January 30, 4pm - 6pm | GCASL Colloquium RoomCookies and Milk with LeadershipThursday, January 30, 6pm - 7pm | SGA Conference RoomStudent Senators Council MeetingThursday, February 6, 9am-11am | GCASL Colloquium RoomUniversity SenateThursday, February 13, 9am-11am | GCASL Colloquium RoomMotions from the FloorAdjournmentMeeting added at 11:10am. ................
