May 15, 2020Dear Pacific Symphony League Member,Thanks so much for your membership and involvement as a Pacific Symphony League member! It is time for your annual membership renewal. As you know, the 2019-2020 symphony season has been unprecedented as most of our Spring and now our Summer concerts have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, the Pacific Symphony needs our help and support! The Pacific Symphony League was founded in 1990 and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year! As the Symphony's premier support group, it exists to provide financial and volunteer support for Pacific Symphony, specifically for its education/community engagement programs. In our current season, from July through April, League members have dedicated 503.6 hours as Ambassadors for the Symphony in community outreach programs such as Heartstrings, Family Musical Mornings, Class Act and Youth Concerts, which helps to grow future audiences who appreciate the value the music of Pacific Symphony brings to their lives. Financial support is provided primarily through the sale of musically themed items through the Pacific Symphony Gift Shop and through membership dues, donations, brunch/lunch/dinner events, one annual Fund-raiser and one annual Friend-raiser. For the 2019-2020 Concert Season, the League also focused on the Frieda Belafonte Class Act Program for underserved elementary school students through a special donation program. We are proud that our League Pacific Symphony Gift Shop is recognized as an official museum store and a part of the international Museum Store Association. The operation of the Pacific Symphony Gift Shop is made possible by the active participation of League members like you. The Pacific Symphony Shop team members and the League Board contributed a total of 2,604 volunteer hours between the months of July to April this past year, raising $28,857.03 in sales! This year alone, the League’s combined efforts have contributed 3,107.6 hours of service to the Symphony. The financial equivalent of these hours at $29.95 per hour comes to $93,072.62, money that the Pacific Symphony wouldn’t have without the generous support and participation of League members such as you.The League also provides a place for like-minded individuals to share their love of symphonic music and music education to foster building new friendships among their passionate community. And as you’re remembering the good friends you’ve made, the satisfaction and enjoyment you’ve had as a League member, consider encouraging your friends to join you in becoming a League member also!Though the 2020-2021 Symphony Season may look a little different with the reopening schedule, event calendar, and future concerts subject to California’s public health restrictions, we hope you will maintain your membership and possibly include an extra donation to ensure the Symphony continues to serve the Orange County Arts Community.Your annual Membership will expire on June 30, 2020. Please don’t let your membership lapse. Please renew by September 30, 2020 to be included in our printed directory. Early Renewal Bonus: Membership renewals that are postmarked by June 25, 2020 will automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $200 gift card from Amazon. Receive an extra chance to win for every friend's name you submit who also joins the League by July 1, 2020. The drawing will take place the first week in July.
