2020 CHRISTMAS ON THE SQUAREGuidelines For Decorating Trees&Frequently Asked Questions & Helpful Information:The 2020 Christmas on The Square will be held on the Historic Old Courthouse Square in downtown Moulton, Al with trees decorated with twinkling lights and decked in creativity of area agencies, groups, businesses, churches and families. The 2020 event will kick-off November 27, 2020 and run through January 1, 2021. Tree Sponsors, you will have January 2nd & 3rd to remove all decorations, lights, extension cords, etc… All décor should be removed no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2021. Any décor not claimed by Sponsor will be thrown in garbage! Guidelines For Decorating Trees:Decorators must provide their own decorations and use only LED outdoor lighting, and approved outdoor grade extension cords. We recommend using 6-7 strings of LED outdoor lights per tree. The more the merrier! We reserve the right to remove any lights that are not LED.Edible items used to decorate are prohibited including, but not limited to, candy canes, popcorn, and birdseed.You will be provided one live Christmas tree, and one sign, which will list the sponsor name.Standard tree measures between 6-7 feet in heightPlease, no offensive or inappropriate décor. We reserve the right to remove offensive displays.Please check your tree and decoration regularly – especially after windy or rainy days.Please be available on setup and takedown dates. What do I put on my tree?Branded material from your company, organization or group are welcome. LED lights only!Weather proof, shatter proof decorations/ornaments onlyIf using paper or pictures, please laminate your imagesWe request you refrain from using political or inflammatory images or materials as decorations. Both will be checked before being issued your sign or allowing lights to be used on trees.Will someone periodically check my tree for light outages, fallen ornaments, or other damage?Yes, but it is recommended that you check your tree periodically. Please remember the trees are out in the elements; wind, rain or other weather may cause ornaments to fall.Tree Sponsor Benefits:Advertisement for your businesses, organization, or groups. You will have all day on the 17th, 18th & 19th to decorate your tree. Your tree must be finished by lunch on Friday, November 20th.November 27th: Official tree lighting and kick off ceremony. January 1, 2021: Last day for trees to be lit.January 2nd – 3rd, 2021: All decorations, lights, extension cords, etc… must be removed from trees by 4:30 p.m. on January 3rd.
