COVID-19 Safety Stand Down

Thank you for joining us for the state-wide safety stand down.

We are taking today’s stand down as a moment of reflection and a chance to redouble our efforts for COVID-19 protections. We deeply appreciate the work you have invested in complying with the increased and changing protocols over the past several months. We also want to recognize the flexibility and engagement of everyone during this time.

As we enter the cold and flu season, and COVID-19 continues to be a threat to our health and livelihoods it is apparent that a rise in cases could derail all the effort we have all have invested these last many months to keep the construction industry safe and working. But we cannot get complacent, now more than ever we need to be steadfast in our healthy practices at work AND AWAY FROM WORK:

• Mask up (our industry is high profile, anyone can see us onsite, so we must be consistent)

• Practice good hygiene: do not touch your face, wash hands often and for 20 seconds, cover your cough or sneeze and AWAY from others

• Maintain social distancing of 6 feet. If you cannot maintain that distance, ensure proper PPE and controls are in place.

• Stay home if you are sick, monitor your temperature

• Clean and disinfect tools and equipment regularly

We are supporting these efforts for cleanliness and distancing by maintaining cleaning supplies and ensuring there is enough space to distance and providing wash stations and sanitizer. If we are missing the mark in any of these areas, please reach out to the COVID Site Supervisor or report it to your supervisor.

We all work hard on the job to protect everyone, so let’s remember that these best practices apply to our actions and activities outside of work. These protections help keep you healthy, your family and coworkers healthy AND save your job and the jobs of others.

As we enter the holiday season, and the marathon run of COVID continues, please be mindful of your mental wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of those around you.
