FROM: Rocky Knoll Administrator Kayla Clinton and Rocky Knoll Leadership Team

DATE: October 9, 2020

SUBJECT: Positive COVID-19 Cases

On October 9th, 2020, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health received notification that Rocky Knoll Health Care Center is associated with three staff, and subsequently one resident that have tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19). They have been placed on isolation are being monitored by Public Health.

To prevent the spread of illness, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health and Rocky Knoll have partnered to conduct contact tracing to identify and follow-up with people who had close contact with the confirmed cases. Upon initial investigation, the active cases had some limited, direct contact with Rocky Knoll residents and staff (Direct contact is defined as within 6ft of a person for 15 minutes or longer).

We are working with local governing officials to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff as we continue to fight this situation. If your family member has had direct contact with these individuals, our team will be calling you directly. We have implemented many processes to limit exposure to the virus and have procedures in place to limit the spread.

At this time, and for a minimum of 14 days, three of our long-term care units (1West, 2West, and 2North) will be on quarantine. All residents who had direct contact with the positive cases on these three units were tested today. All residents will be tested at the upcoming testing date (10/13). There was no exposure to Woodland Village or 1North. All Visiting booth, Compassionate Care visits and Beauty shop appointments are cancelled and will resume on Tuesday (10/13) for those non-symptomatic, non-isolated residents. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines to minimize the risk of any further transmission.
