Title: Staff Accountant - Exempt

|Job Summary: |

|Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Staff Accountant will perform detailed financial|

|analysis, accounts payable, general ledger, month end reporting, and additional duties as assigned. |

|Job Qualifications: |

| |Bachelor degree preferred. 2-4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. |

|Education: | |

| |Understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles. Critical thinking and strong analytical skills. Strong Excel skills. Strong|

|Skills: |verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details. Ability to maintain|

| |composure and work well with others in high volume environment. |

| |Accounts Payable and Payroll experience preferred. Ability to work in smaller Accounting group. |

|Experience: | |

|Other: |Reliable transportation, proof of auto liability coverage, and a valid driver’s license required.. Must be able to pass drug test and |

| |criminal background check requirements of agency licensed by the DADS. |

|Environmental and Working Conditions: |

| |

|Works in a routine office environment. Noise level may be moderately high. Will need to be flexible with work schedules and periodically work extended hours. |

|Physical and Mental Effort: |

|Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication. Able to deal effectively with stress. Work requires the physical demands of sitting,|

|standing, bending, lifting, stooping or performing other work requiring light physical exertion on an intermittent basis. |

|Essential Functions: |

|Perform detailed analysis and provide reports and financial statements as necessary. |

|Reconcile accounts (bank, credit card, cash, and insurance payments). |

|Maintain General Ledger (Complete the balance sheet reconciliation for assigned accounts on a monthly basis). |

|Monitor monthly accruals and prepaid expenses. |

|Maintain Chart of Accounts. |

|Full month end close responsibilities |

|Research and resolve accounting issues, |

|Process weekly Accounts Payable. |

|Preparation and filing of 1099s and 1096s. |

|Prepare Bi-Weekly and Semi-Monthly Payroll. |

|Initiate Payroll Tax Payments. |

|Help prepare and file Quarterly and Annual Tax reports and W-2. |

|Maintain Payroll and Vendor Master files. |

|Carries out other duties as assigned. |
