|All general and special education students in Grades K 2 (except for students served in PPCD, Life Skills or Applied Skills), should be administered the District’s |

|Universal Screening Assessment: K-2 Humble Early Reading Inventory (HERSI). Each student must have two marking period data points entered into the required Aware |

|fields (exception – student enrolled within the last 5 weeks of the school year will have -1 or Z = Not Assessed entered in the required Aware fields for |

|MarkingPeriod 4 .) (See Aware Data Entry Reference Guide for clarification.) |

|BEGINNING-OF-THE-YEAR -- MARKING PERIOD 1 |

|Vocabulary, Dictation, and DRA |1st and 2nd Grade: for students on and above grade level, current data including running records, comprehension rubrics and |
