AI-enabled Evolet e-scooters launched

• Three variants were launched; first offering of the company in the Indian market

New Delhi, September 4, 2019: Rissala Electric Motors Pvt. Ltd., the young electric vehicle organisation, has made its debut in the industry by launching Evolet, its first e-scooters in India. Guest of Honor Mr Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport, and Bollywood actor Ms Urvashi Rautela were present to launch the comprehensive range of e-scooters. The range which Rissala introduced included Polo, Derby, Pony and Warrior. The company forayed in the industry with various slow speed, fast speed as well as IOT-enabled models.

Talking about the urgent need to promote e-vehicles, Mr Gadkari, said, "The government is aggressively promoting renewable resources and electric vehicles to curb pollution. We will do everything that is necessary to make the transition from fuel-based to electric vehicles as smooth as possible. The demand is very high as people are now aware of its benefits and harmful effects of fossil fuels on the environment and human beings. We are working on a multi-pronged approach and hope that soon India will have cleaner air to breath."

In the initial phase, the company is targeting Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana markets. The company’s spokesperson says that Evolet will be available pan India in the next two months. The price of e-scooters starts at Rs 39,000, and the top end is priced at Rs 59,999. Speaking on this occasion, Mrs. Prerana Chaturvedi, spokesperson, Rissala Electric Motors Pvt Ltd, said, "We want to come up with product that has no transportation cost and is affordable with good after-sales facility. Through informative marketing, we can educate the masses about e-scooters and ascertain the fact that these vehicles are more beneficial than other types of vehicles available in the market."

The company has its manufacturing facilities at Bilaspur (Haryana), which is spread over 1,00,000 sq.ft. Boasting of world-class infrastructure for manufacturing e-vehicles, Rissala assures world-class designs, manufacturing, and testing, with international quality standards and after sales services.

To begin with, Polo promises ease of riding, fresh look and comes with contemporary Italian styling that will appeal to those who ride shorter distances every day. Look-wise, Polo’s lightweight construction will allow easy manoeuverability for urban commuters. The company claims that it can cover a distance of up to 60 km with a max speed of 25 kmph in one full charge. The two variants of Polo are Polo EZ with 48 V/24 Ah VRLA battery and Polo Classic with 48 V/24 Ah Lithium Ion Battery. Polo EZ is priced at Rs 44499 and Polo Classic at Rs 54499.

On the other hand, Derby is a dynamic sports motorcycle with muscular yet a sleek look and gives a max speed of 25 kmph and a 60 km range. Derby with waterproof BLDC motor and comes in two variants – Derby EZ with 60 V/30 Ah VRLA battery and Derby Classic with 60 V/30 Ah Lithium Ion Battery. Price of Derby EZ is Rs 46499 and Derby Classic is Rs 59999.

The third e-scooter is Polo Pony that comes with waterproof BLDC motor giving output of 250 watt power. It gives the maximum speed of 25 kmph with 60 km per charge. Pony is available in two variants – Polo Pony EZ with 48 V/24Ah VRLA battery and Polo Pony Classic with 48V/24 Ah Lithium Ion Battery. Polo Pony EZ comes with the price of Rs 39499 and Polo Pony Classic is at Rs 49499.

Fourth is the Warrior, which is first electric quad bike in India. Warrior with waterproof BLDC motor giving output of 3000 watt power gives the maximum forward speed of 60 kmph and reverse speed of 20 kmph with 50 km per charge. Warrior is available with 72 V/ 40 Ah Lithium Ion Battery. It comes with a price tag of Rs 1.40 lakh.

For added convenience, there are multiple ways to charge the scooter. All the models use a lithium ion battery. Rissala also offers Lead Acid battery for those who opt for a more economical option.

In addition to make the e-scooters tick is the impressive features of these models. Customers can fully charge the battery within 4 hours with average charge cycle 2500-3000. Rissala also plans to establish loyalty programme and mapping driving scores tied into contests and vehicle service, etc.

The top version of these e-scooters is IOT-enabled and is powered by Evolet app, which gives the rider a host of information such as battery health, battery status, GPS, and security tracking. Through the application, customers will also be able to get notified when vehicle service is due and be able to make an appointment for the same. Along with this, the company is also offering a fast charger for shorter charging times that can charge the battery within 3 hours.
