| | |As of Dec. 31, 2014, there were 1,660 exchange-traded products in the United States market. Within the month, there were 15 |

| | |new exchange-traded funds. |

| | |U.S. ETF market assets were approximately $2 trillion in December. SPDR State Street Global Advisors, Vanguard, and Schwab |

| | |ETFs experienced the highest inflows of assets, while PowerShares, iShares, and Market Vectors were among those with the |

| | |greatest asset outflows. The large-blend, immediate-term bond, and financial Morningstar Categories had the greatest inflows, |

| | |totaling around $27.45 billion, while the diversified emerging markets, miscellaneous region, and large growth categories had |

| | |the greatest outflows, totaling approximately $16.24 billion. |

| | |The funds with the greatest December inflows include SPDR S&P 500 ETF SPY ($15.74 billion), iShares Russell 2000 IWM ($2.61 |

| | |billion), and Consumer Discretion Select Sector SPDR ETF XLY ($2.54 billion). The funds with the highest outflows were |

| | |PowerShares QQQ ETF QQQ (down $4.95 billion), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets EEM (down $4.42 billion), and iShares Short |

| | |Treasury Bond SHV (down $2.46 billion). |

| | |The three highest-performing U.S. ETF categories for the month of December were trading-inverse commodities, volatility, and |

| | |commodities miscellaneous, with returns ranging from 2.64% to 22.47%. The three lowest-performing ETF categories for the month|

| | |were commodities energy, trading-leveraged commodities, and Latin American stock, with returns ranging from negative 19.12% to|

| | |negative 9.72%. |

| | |December 2014 returns for the U.S. ETF universe averaged negative 1.56% compared with 0.07% returns from the previous month. |
