If you would like to have a birthday ice cream treat with your child on or near his/her birthday, please feel free to do so. The ice cream can be purchased through the school cafeteria 2 weeks in advance. Please call 281-641-2108 to speak with the cafeteria manager. Birthdays are recognized during the class day as well. We will recognize summer birthdays at the end of the school year. Please do not send birthday party invitations to be distributed at school.

Discipline is simple. We work hard as a class to make the classroom a positive and safe place for all. Students are free to do anything that does not cause a problem for themselves or cause a problem for others. If a student causes a problem, I will first ask him/her to solve it. If the student cannot or chooses not to, I will solve the problem for them.

Our Panther Pride rules are:

1. Be responsible

2. Be respectful

3. Be safe

4. Always Be a learner

Independence is a goal for students because it builds self-esteem and self-confidence.  4th Graders are very capable of doing many things on their own, and I encourage them to do as much as they can for themselves in the classroom. Please work on the following self-help skills at home with your child: organization, getting ready in the morning, bringing all necessary items to school every day.

Writing takes place every day in 4th Grade. One way we accomplish this is through working on various types of entries in our journals during writer’s workshop. Encourage your child to write at home for a variety of purposes. The writing STAAR test (TAKS) will take place over two days, March 27th and 28th.
