PLANETS POWER POINT PROJECT
PLANETS (and their moon’s) POWER POINT PROJECT
OBJECTIVE
The students will:
a) use websites and text resources to gather information about a planet or its moons
b) plan seven slides for a slideshow presentation using a power point template
c) present their assigned planet/moon
DIRECTIONS
1. You will be assigned a different planet or moon from your classmates.
2. Using the library resources and internet you will research their planet or its moons. Listed below are some websites you may use, and you may use your textbook.

➢
3. Use the power point story board to plan the slideshow.
4. Make sure to follow the EXACT format of the story board.
5. You will then present their slideshows to the class. You must bring your PP slides on a flash drive or email them to me.
6. During the presentations you are to complete a table of facts about each planet.
7. You will be graded on a predetermined rubric (refer to back of paper).
8. EACH slide should have a picture
9. Overall design counts, so create a creative project!
10. Presentation counts, so be prepared when you present – do NOT read the slides!

2: PLACE IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM
Identify its order from the sun. Include its average distance from the sun. Is it an inner or outer planet? Insert graphic of solar system with all 9 planets labeled. If it is a moon, discuss the planet it is attached to here.

6: ROTATION and REVOLUTION
Describe the planet’s or moon’s rotation. Include the rate of rotation (earth time). Is there an axis? (is the body tilted on its axis, does it have seasons). Describe the orbit of the planet around the sun (shape of orbit and how long it takes to orbit in earth years = revolution).
