Grading:

Grades will be posted online (accessible from our school website with student's school ID #, which you can find on schedule or report card) and should be checked by student and parents at least weekly for all your classes.

Grade weighting: grades are weighted by category within the online gradebook program (no extra credit; grades are earned by showing proficiency with course standards as assessed)

• 15% homework (may include some classwork completion items)

• 35% quiz/classwork (will include some minor assignments)

• 50% test category (will include some major assignments)

Due dates: late work is only accepted from students who have an excused absence on the day an assignment is made or due (to be excused, note must be turned in to front office upon return). Per district policy, any such work must be made up within a maximum 5 days. The exception to this: Any tests, quizzes, or assignment deadlines you missed that you already knew about prior to the absence (assigned when you were present and already made aware of them) will be due on your first day of return from an absence.

How will you know when work is due or what's going on in class? I will say it, I will display it, you should record it in your planner to check every night (YOUR responsibility), you can check the class website, you can join the class email list, and you can find a class "study buddy" to exchange contact information with

Rules and Procedures:

These will be established and reviewed extensively in class. In addition, students and parents should carefully review all policies outlined in the SRMS section of the student agenda/planner, as well as the Code of Conduct for Okaloosa County School District. Students will be expected to follow these without exception.

Please make special note of the policies regarding wireless communication devices (must not be visible and sound must be off; cell phones may not be used during school hours unless in a teacher-led instructional activity).

You must enter class quietly and orderly, take your seat, and begin the posted bellwork. I should not see or hear any cell phones or electronic devices in class or hallway (school & district policy). There will be no gum, food, or snacks in the classroom (school policy). We will review specific classroom procedures in class.
