ST's comments: It's great when you see trophy entries that show a lot of care, hard work, and attention to detail. This was certainly one of them. Though you can't see it from this document, the trophies also had a white glow, and overall, I'm sure they'll work very well in the place of our old trophies. Great work, Orbis!

ST's comments: This was actually my personal favorite out of the bunch. There was something that looked especially well done with it: the style was clean and well decorated. Needless to say, LunarDrake finished with a very close second, and should certainly be proud of this excellent set. His graphical skills really showed here.

ST's comments: This was probably the one that looked the most "professional" out of the bunch in my opinion. I'm not sure how he did it, but AtomicShroom made a very detailed and high quality set. There was certainly something that made it stand out compared to the rest of the trophies, and while it didn't quite win, it was still very well made overall.

ST's comments: This was a pretty interesting trophy set overall. The shading was unique and each trophy looked distinctly different and creative. While there were a couple things I would've changed, such as the red lines extending from the gold trophy, it was pretty popular overall and showed a lot of effort.

ST's comments: This was a pretty solid entry overall, and I liked the use of regular, Super, and Cape Mario in this, along with the powerups. I felt like the black outlines stood out a bit too much, and the shading was a bit basic, but still, it was a pretty nice entry.

ST's comments: There was something about this entry that I especially liked. It had unique, interesting style to it, and I liked how it was more vertically oriented. The colors did seem a little on the dull side, bu the mushroom/flower/star progression was executed well here.

ST's comments: Anyone who checks out the hack removal log regularly should know the inspiration for these trophies. Nevertheless, this was one of the most creative sets, and was able to be SMWC-related in a very interesting way. Gotta love the gold trophy especially.

ST's comments: While I wouldn't describe this trophy set as extremely fancy, it was pretty nicely done, and it was great to see both Mario, Luigi and Yoshi included. The different poses for the characters looked pretty good too.

ST's comments: One the funnier trophy submissions, the use of Mario, Luigi and Toad in the trophies was clever, and I liked their expressions. Still, I felt that the actual design of the trophies could've been a bit smoother: the shading was fairly basic and it lacked in decoration. A neat little set though.

ST's comments: This was another one I liked quite a bit. The shading was well done overall, the style was simple, yet had a nice, clean look to it. The only issue I would've seen with it is some difficulty viewing them under certain site schemes, since it didn't have much of an outline.

ST's comments: Yes. While I wasn't sure this trophy would end up winning, it was probably the funniest and most creative out of the bunch. Each trophy looked distinctly different and really nice, and I could just munch that gold one right up. The only one that seemed a little out of place was the bronze trophy though: it was hard to tell what it was at first and reminded me a little of Sandbag. Overall, great entries.

ST's comments: I'll be honest here: this wasn't exactly one of my favorite entries, though it did show quite a bit of hard work. The progression from regular to Cape Mario was pretty cool, and the more badge-oriented design was neat, but the designs for the badges themselves felt a bit on the plain side. It can't be seen here, but there were a few loose white pixels as well.

ST's comments: As another excellent pixel artist, Ladida had a really nice entry, and I'm surprised it didn't get more votes. Not only did the base have nice shading, but the designs for the various objects were great too. The only oddity I noticed was that they were floating, and I think it would've looked slightly better if they were "rooted" to the ground in some way.

ST's comments: This entry was originally on the chopping block. The size of each of the trophies exceeded the limit, but I ultimately decided to let it slide since it could be fixed afterwards. Aside from that, it was a really nice entry. Each trophy has distinct style to it and their design is pretty spiffy. I think it could've benefited from a darker outline, but still, it's quite good nonetheless.

ST's comments: This was one of the earliest entries submitted, and while it wasn't bad overall, I felt it was a bit too much on the plain side. The Mario and enemy graphics were nice, and the trophy's shine was good too, but a solid outline could've really benefited this set. Aside from that, it could've used a bit more decoration as well, potentially having some different styles for each trophy. Still, a nice, basic entry.

ST's comments: This was probably one of the few (if not the only) entry to look more like an actual medal than a trophy, which is fine. Still, the set was a little too basic and plain: the three trophies are only different in terms of their colors, and some additional decorations would've been nice to spruce it up a bit. I do see the direction you were going with it though.

ST's comments: Despite the designs being a bit on the small side, this was a nifty little entry. It had a nice use of color and decoration, as well as a creative style to it. Still, as I've mentioned regarding some of the other trophies, the design would benefit a bit from an outline of sorts: it's one of the main issues SMWC's old set has, and one that could be improved upon.

ST's comments: This entry had an interesting style, with the trophy-on-trophy design, and generally looked pretty good overall. The biggest issue I saw though was a lack of contrast between the colors: it makes the "SMW Central" text difficult to read as well as some of the outlines. Darkening it a bit could've augmented this entry overall, but it was pretty good still.

ST's comments: A bit similar to SMWC's current design, this one was able to improve on it a bit, and generally looked good overall, though it had some issues. The most significant of which I noticed was the lack of balance between the handles and the base: one side would be longer or bigger than the other. The shading also seemed a bit odd, being in random places rather than a bit more balanced in terms of lighting. While it could use some improvement, it was nice to see as an entry overall.

ST's comments: To be honest, this entry felt a bit plain overall. While the border, lighting and powerups were nice to go with its "plaque" design, there ultimately wasn't enough in terms of decoration and detail. It also felt like there was pillow shading in terms of the edges. It was pretty basic, but it held a nice and simple style to it.

ST's comments: This was another trophy that seemed to suffer from a general lack of contrast between the different shades, making the shading itself feel nonexistent. Still, there were some pretty neat things going for this one, such as the different styles of trophies for each of them and the ring around the star. I think it deserved a few more votes, and wasn't bad overall.

ST's comments: This was another entry that I felt deserved a few more votes. This was actually the very first entry submitted to the contest, I felt like it benefited from an outline as well as clear 1, 2 and 3 text. Probably my biggest gripe with it though was the pillow shading. It would've been neat for the lightest part to be at a bit of an angle instead of right in the center, but it was neat how it was bent upwards a bit.

ST's comments: Now here's a trophy with character! I'll be honest: I couldn't really see this trophy set being used to replace our old ones, but it certainly had a sense of humor and creativity to it. The expressions are pretty hilarious, and the design itself reminded me a bit of Mario is Missing and the like. It was pretty great to see some entries like this and Remnic's.

ST's comments: Like AtomicShroom's set, this entry had a pretty different style to it that didn't really seem like pixel art, and probably had another program. Still, it came out with a pretty neat 3D effect that was unfortunately hampered by the colors. Simply, the trophies got too dark with the black on the right side, and the bronze trophy especially suffered from this. It also made the SMWC text very hard to read. A nifty entry, but one that would've looked better with some different color choices.

ST's comments: While not a "bad" set by any means, there wasn't too much that really stood out with this one. The gold trophy's design looked a bit odd with the green, the outline was a touch too thick, and the shading was pretty basic overall. Thankfully, the design itself was even, and the shading is certainly distinct enough to see.

ST's comments: This entry was a winner for me. No, I'm not being sarcastic. While I felt that the style was very plain and that the excessive white pixels (can't really see here) really should've been removed, the attitude of the creator really shined through. When he contacted me, he wasn't interested in winning and didn't expect he would. Rather, he was more interested in having fun. That was a trait I really admired and liked to see, and even though he didn't get a vote, he still was a participant and receives a participant's trophy for it. Hopefully this is a good sign that more people will enter these sorts of contests for fun: after all, it is what this was all about overall.
