Players will examine political, economic, technological, and social developments of the United States from the exploration period through Reconstruction. The 21st Century Skill Practice:“Why do we need to Practice?”How many of you have ever played a sport? Did you ever have to practice? What was practice preparing you for? Practice helps us turn our weaknesses into strengths. Practice does NOT make perfect. Practice makes PERMANENT. If you practice doing something the wrong way you will undoubtedly do it wrong in an actual game. I need you to understand that practice is designed to challenge you. You will be challenged. But you will also have a lot of fun. One day, the 8th grade class of 2014 will run this country, so you need to start learning how the whole thing works. The knowledge and skills you acquire during practice will help prepare you to be a contributing player on the most important team you will ever play for- The United States of America.During class we will try to use technology as much as possible. We will read, write, discuss, debate, present, dance, sing, joke, even occasionally get off topic, but it’s super important that when it’s time to move forward, that we are able to move forward. THE MORE PRODUCTIVE YOU ARE IN CLASS, THE LESS HOMEWORK YOU WILL HAVE, AND THE MORE YOU WILL LEARN. All I need is for you to show up on time, ready to follow the Super Seven Guidelines below.
