MSE Certification Notes:

A) All courses towards the degree requirement must be 400 level or above.

B) At most, two courses with grades less than B- may be counted.

C) No courses with grades less than C- may be counted.

D) The overall grade point average of the courses counted towards the coursework

requirements must be a 3.00 or higher (B average).

E) No more than 3 credits from short courses can be applied to the MSE degree.

F) At most, two independent study courses (including 600.491/492 Computer

Programming Workshop I and II) can be counted toward the course

requirements.

G) No courses with grades of P may be counted with the exception of

600.464/664, and independent study courses.

H) A majority of the courses counted must be taught in the Department of

Computer Science.

I) At most, two courses can be transferred from other institutions. Such transfer

courses must be approved by the student's faculty advisor and the department.

J) A grade of D or F results in probation; a second D or F is cause for being

dropped from the program.
