Topic:

To prepare for suffering and possibly death for Christ

--- or ---

Pre / Mid-Trib. Rapture

Here is a compilation of scriptures that make a point that we will suffer for Jesus Christ’s name and even suffer death (of the flesh). This list does not include the example of how Jesus himself suffered for the truth at the hands of evil men. The apostles and some of Jesus disciples also suffered death. They set the “bench mark” for the future disciples of Jesus.

There are 23 scriptures in the NT found that prepare us mentally for this possibility.

There are NO mentions of anyone experiencing a “rescue” from this possibility. The salvation is one of the one’s spirit, NOT the flesh. God and His Son Jesus are glorified in our righteous sufferings at the hand of lawlessness men. This produces a kind of “fruit of the Spirit”.

Micah 7:2 2 The godly has perished from the earth,

and there is no one upright among mankind;

they all lie in wait for blood,

and each hunts the other with a net.

Romans 14:8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!” ( See Matt 18 on …”What ever you bind on earth…”

There will likely be many more mentions in the New Testament and the Old Testament. Know of any?
