POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

|POSITION: |Program Coordinator/Instructor, Computer Information Systems (CIS) |

| | |

| |Under the general supervision of the Dean for Business and Public Service Technologies, The Program |

| |Coordinator holds a faculty appointment. This individual demonstrates competence in Computer Information |

| |Systems and must have academic credentials in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related |

| |field. The Program Coordinator will lead a dynamic faculty toward a sustained higher level of excellence, |

| |foster effective cooperation, coordination, and communication. The primary responsibility of the Program |

| |Coordinator is to teach academic courses in the computer information systems field, such as programming, |

| |networking and cyber security, and coordinate academic and grant related processes in the Computer |

| |Information Systems department. |

| |Other Duties: |

| |• Works to ensure the consistent exercise of college and TCSG academic policies, procedures, rules, |

| |regulations, and other criteria or guidelines |

| |• Prepares and delivers quality curriculum with daily instruction of students |

| |• Supervises faculty as designated within the organizational structure of the college |

| |• Orients and assists new faculty on college policies and procedures. Assigns faculty mentors when |

| |appropriate |

| |• Conducts annual performance evaluations of fulltime faculty. Observes and documents effectiveness of |

| |adjunct faculty |

| |• Reports to dean any faculty absences, student grievance/appeals, and other matters that may affect |

| |instruction |

| |• Assists faculty, where needed, in addressing all aspects of verifying program learning outcomes, |

| |including identification, review, revision, measurement, and analysis of outcomes |

| |• Ensures submission of required fees and documentation, including reports of graduation rates, performance|

| |on state licensing or certifications examinations and employment rates |

| |• Oversees the development, review and revision of course syllabi |

| |• Assists program faculty on college curriculum review process; recommends to dean any current curriculum |

| |changes, program additions, and program terminations |

| |• Ensures administration of and reviews course evaluation by students |

| |• Recruits advisory board members |

| |• Coordinates relevant program advisory committee activities, including annual meetings, agendas, and |

| |required documentation |

| |• Develops and submits the program budget based on the assessment of the needs of the program to meet the |

| |goals and objectives. |

| |• Reviews academic program budgets under assigned supervision with program faculty. Ensures program |

| |faculty adherence to budget and purchasing requirements |

| |• Prepares all quarterly and annual program/ course scheduling for programs under assigned supervision. |

| |Ensures compatibility with other program areas where applicable. Ensures appropriate faculty loads |

| |• Participates in, as needed, all program enrollment processes, including registration, drop/add, |

| |withdrawals, etc. |

| |Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of current |

| |procedures in the computer information systems field. Follows approved curriculum standards and course |

| |syllabi. Monitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment. Advises and counsels students, and |

| |maintains appropriate advisement records on each student. Maintains classrooms and laboratories in |

| |accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans. Attends meetings as required. Assists with |

| |student recruitment and job placement. Serves on committees. Maintains qualifications for employment as |

| |described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows |

| |rules and regulations as described by the Department of Technical and Education Policy Manual and other |

| |policies and procedures established by the institution. |

|MINIMUM |Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field is required. Degree must be from a |

|QUALIFICATIONS: |regionally accredited private or public postsecondary institution. Appropriate degree will reflect the |

| |requirements of the institution’s accrediting agencies and state and/or national licensing boards. Three |

| |years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years. Work experience must include the |

| |competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the computer information system instructional |

| |program. Expertise in the content being taught and knowledge of curriculum design and educational |

| |strategies. Must be adept at multi-tasking, prompt follow up and adapting to and embracing change. Must |

| |demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess and maintain the appropriate |

| |professional credential or related to the computer information systems field. |

|PREFERRED |PHD preferred. Work experience in the Information security and Computer fields. Experience in an academic |

|QUALIFICATIONS: |setting, BANNER System, and Blackboard learning management system. Experience with computer programming, |

| |databases and networking. Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and Security + required. Microsoft |

| |Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) |

| |certifications desirable. Linux Certified System Administrator, Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) |

| |highly desirable, CCNA Security and other higher level security certifications desirable. |

| |Computer forensics analysis, cloud certifications also desirable. |

|WORK SCHEDULE: |Schedule - Monday – Friday (Evening as Assigned) |

|SALARY: |Salary Range Annually $70,000 to $74,000 – TECH HIRE GRANT |
