CROWLEY, LOUISIANAAUGUST 13, 2019THE ACADIA PARISH POLICE JURY met on the above date at 5:30 p.m., in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, in regular session with the Vice-President Robert Guidry presiding. At the request of the Vice-President, a prayer was offered and the Pledge to the Flag was recited in unison. Discuss, with possible action, authorizing the President to sign forms in reference to Med Green opening a waste facility in the Industrial Park in Duson, pertaining to a buffer zone, traffic impact statement and zoning. d. Authorize the President to sign a resolution directing Legal Counsel to request an AG opinion regarding the obligation for the Police Jury to pay office staff, i.e. Secretaries, receptionists of the district court. e. Authorize the President to sign a resolution directing Legal Counsel to request an AG opinion regarding the obligation of the Police Jury to provide security at the courthouse entrance doors.f. Approve a resolution supporting Mr. Ronald Darby as a candidate for Third Vice President on the Executive Board of the LPJA. g. Approve a resolution giving serious consideration by the DOTD to have locally established engineering firms lead the effort for our region concerning floodplain management and risk-reduction planning that directly affect all of Acadia Parish. h. Approve a resolution for the 2020 Census. i. Remove item #12 from agendaA motion was offered by Mr. Kerry Kilgore, seconded by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin, and carried unanimously, to dispense with the reading and approve the minutes of theJuly 9, 2019 Regular Meeting, as written.A motion was offered by Mr. Broussard, seconded by Mr. Kilgore, and carried, to have Mr. Cole Frey attend the Road and Bridge Committee meeting in September to discuss how Prairie Hayes Road will be repaired.
