I have put it here:On the island of Crete there lived a Minotaur, a ferocious creature that was half man and half bull. The people of the island of Crete were terrified of the Minotaur; it loved nothing more than to feast on human flesh. They begged their ruler, King Minos, to order that the creature be killed, but the King decided against this. Instead, he constructed a plan to imprison the Minotaur. To die at the hands of the Minotaur would be one of the most terrible deaths imaginable, and King Minos believed that his enemies deserved to meet such a fate. He enlisted the help of Daedalus, a talented architect, inventor and craftsman, and asked him to build a labyrinth – a maze of passages that would be so complex that it would be virtually impossible for anyone (or anything) to ever find a way out.Write a character description of the Minotaur. Imagine you live on the island of Crete and you have just spotted the Minotaur! Can you slowly reveal parts of the creature (just like we did for the Cyclops!) Make 2 points and back up each point with evidence (you could add your own ideas here!)Round off your letter by reminding the King what you want him to do. Friday writing: Yesterday, you wrote a letter to the King persuading him to kill the Minotaur. Today, we’d like you to write the King’s reply. You are going to be the King and in your letter to the people of Crete you need to tell them that you are not going to kill the Minotaur. This is a formal letter (remember, you are the king!). Here are some sentence starters to help you…Thank you for your letter which …After careful thought…It is in the best interest of the people that…I am sure you will understand that…MathsLog in to your Times Table Rockstars account and complete 10 minutes of practise every day.Monday: Answer 5 questions from either:: Answer 5 questions from either:: Answer 5 questions from either:: Answer 5 questions from either:: out with Maurice () and end with some dancing ()Work-out every morning with Joe Wicks, the Body Coach.
