How to search the website;Select Start Reading and you enter the library categories. Click on the search option. You will see a new page with a light purple band. On the far left hand side on this purple band there is a blue symbol. Click it and you get more search options. You should see a green square with ATOS on it. Click this button and numbers 0-10+ will appear. You can experiment with other search filters too. If you are at the 2.5 level click 2 then go back up to the search option and click on the blue circle with the magnifying glass. This will show you all the level 2 books. It will start with 2.0, scroll down to see 2.1, 2.2 and so on. Click on the book info and click the i for details, you might see an AR quiz number.Even if you see this please check the book is on the UK AR book finder page because some books are only available on the USA version of Accelerated Reader and you still need to check if the book is an LY or MY book. I have complied two booklists to make the search a bit easier, they list 6 books at most levels. There are also Accelerated Reader Articles on the Accelerated Reader website that you can access, read and quiz on, when you are logged in.?So your child picks a book from the online library and they check that it’s on the AR system. If it’s an AR book, they can read it and complete the quiz on it by logging in as they would at school using the website below. =online library =Check the book is on our AR system = Login as you would at school to access quizzing and Accelerated Reader ArticlesThe children click I am a Student. Most children log in using their first initial and their surname as their username e.g. John Flynn=J Flynn or Jo Flynn. They also use their password which is the same password they use for Mathletics. So the usernames are different but passwords are the same. When your child logs in they click on the orange and white Accelerated Reader button (middle one) they will get a search window. Type in the book title or quiz number. The quiz number is better as many books have the same title. They then click take quiz and reading practice. The quiz should start. LY Lower Years Books =Senior Infants to 2nd Class (some 3rd Class too)MY Middle Years Books=3rd Class -6th ClassRecommended Reading Times: Senior Infants=20 minutes 1st Class=30 minutes, 2nd Class=35 minutes, 3rd and 4th Class=45 minutes, 5th and 6th Class=1 hour.If your child has been reading books during the lockdown period you can check if they are on the AR system and available for quizzing.Generally in school the children from Senior Infants up to 2nd Class read the Lower Years books (LY). In some cases 3rd Class can read LY books too but by this stage of the year 3rd-6th Class should be reading Middle Years (MY) books. If your child is reading MY books in 2nd Class and they are fully able to follow and understand them, that is great. Please ensure that the content is appropriate and that the book itself is not extremely long. At school we tend to follow the system that when you achieve 100% at one level three times you move up to the next level. So if you are reading 3.3 books, when you get 100% in three quizzes you can move up to 3.4. We have checked each child's level and we have set a target of 2 levels ahead of their last 100% mark with one or two exceptions. ................
