Accounting Manager Job Description

SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager will oversee and direct all accounting activities including maintenance of accounting systems, and financial/production/business data analysis and reporting for the Dental Crafters Network of companies comprised of Dental Crafters, Inc., Implant Solutions, LLC, Argon Dental USA, LLC, and Blue Sky, LLC.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and lead the accounting team; comprised of a Senior Accountant and an Accounting Associate.

• Interview, hire and train new staff as required

• Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations

• Handles disciple and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

• Lead by example – the Accounting Manager is a working supervisor.

• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information

Accounting Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of all accounting records

• Prepares monthly financial statements and other operating/statistical reports.

• Reviews financial statements and operating reports with all parties of interest.

• Preparation/analysis of daily/weekly/monthly reports of key financial and operational metric trends and utilization.

• Leads the coordination with CPA firm of all tax compliance and reporting.

• Oversee preparation/analysis of continuous (such as 13 week) cash forecast.

• Oversee AR credit policies and collection activity to reduce past due balances.

• Oversee AP vendor payment policies while maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring continued supply.

• Assess organizational performance against budgets with functional leaders and management team.

• Serves as administrator for all ERP systems.

• Lead ERP system conversions, migrations and updates.

• Establishes sound internal financial management control systems and develops procedures to continuously improve internal control systems.

• Identify and suggest opportunities for enhancement of profitability.

Strategic and Analytical

• Performs and communicates variance analysis on financial performance to management.

• Provide management team with business forecasts that convey timely insights as to prospective profit impacts of changes in project pricing and/or cost reductions as needed and as market conditions dictate that enable better management decision making.

• Develop and manage processes and systems to provide management team with timely financial and operational information and make actionable and strategic recommendations.

• Strategic focus on cost containment and cost reductions as necessary to improve EBITDA performance and communication of strategies and executable action plans to management team.

• Preparation and communication to management of capital and operating budgets

Relationship Building

• Establishes credibility throughout the organization and with the management as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.

• Builds solid working relationships across the organization including with management, workforce, customers, suppliers and other parties.

Other

• Develop understanding of and ability to back up the Purchasing Associate job function.

• Display versatility and initiative to add value to the organization outside of the Accounting Department.

• Other Duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

• At least five (5) years of accounting experience with at least two as a manager of an accounting department required.

• Successful experience creating an accounting department that is a “business partner” across the organization.

• Experience with Accounting Software / ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP ideal but not required.

• Strong data analysis and reporting skills

• Multi division, multi operational company experience ideal but not required.

• Occasional travel to customer or vendor sites and corporate or industry events.
