1) What is the legal identity of IICT?

IICT is registered society under Societies Act. It is under the aegis of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles.

2) What courses are offered at IICT?

IICT offers a 4 years B. Tech. degree programme in Carpet & Textile Technology. Apart from this, IICT also offers 4 months certificate courses in dyeing, IT and Carpet designing.

3) What is the mode of admission to B. Tech. degree of IICT?

The admission to B. Tech. (CTT) is through the AIEEE conducted by CBSE, New Delhi

4) How many seats are available in B. Tech. degree course?

Total 60 seats are available in the B. Tech. degree course of IICT. Reservation for SC/ ST & OBC is as per government rules.

5) Does IICT offer distance learning also?

IICT offers IDLP (International Distance Learning Program) in collaboration with AgResearch New Zealand. The program offers 7 diploma courses of 3 year duration each in different areas of carpet & textile technology out of 30 certificates. Renewal of approval of Distance Education Council is awaited.

6) What is the fee structure of IICT?

The fee for B. Tech. course is Rs. 35000 per year (plus Hostel Fee). The fee for IDLP is Rs. 36000/- for one diploma. The fee for one certificate course is Rs. 6000/-. Fee for short term is Rs. 10000/-/15000/- depending upon the course.

7) Is the B. Tech. course of IICT approved by AICTE?

Yes

8) IICT is affiliated to which University?

Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow (UPTU)

9) What are the specializations offered in B. Tech. (CTT) course?

Three specializations are offered in B. Tech. (CTT) course viz. Advanced Carpet Technology, Textile Design Technology & Home Textile Technology.

10) What is the placement record of IICT?

Since its inception, IICT has been able to achieve 100% placement for its students in different segments of textile industry.

11) Is there any provision for direct admission to B. Tech. degree course?

No, there no such provision. However, direct admission to second year is given under lateral entry scheme for diploma holders/ B. Sc. with maths candidates.

12) Is hostel facility available at IICT?

Separate hostels for boys & girls are available to students at IICT campus.

13) Whether the laboratory of IICT has any recognition?

The laboratory of IICT accredited for ISO 17025 by NABL.

14) Whether IICT is involved in Research & Development also?

Yes! IICT is actively involved in R&D of products and processes for carpet & textile industry.

15) Whether the institute has any international recognition?

Yes! IICT is certified for ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System by SGS. The B. Tech degree courses of IICT is accredited by The Textile Institute, Manchester.
