_____________________________________________________________________Change to ACCESS for ELLs Data Validation Webinar?As we continue to question the future timeline of testing in our state, in an effort to provide flexibility and support to schools,?the Data Validation Webinar hosted by?ESL/Title III?and Accountability will?not?be a live webinar on Friday, March 20th. This webinar will be recorded and posted for districts/schools to use?when?they are ready to begin preparing for the data validation process.?During this time we recognize that schools may be making adjustments to roles/responsibilities and may need time to ensure individuals responsible for reviewing/correcting ACCESS for ELLs data are able to listen to the webinar and complete the tasks associated with the data validation process.?As a reminder, the North Carolina data validation window does not open until 3/31/20 and closes 4/13/200,?and we hope this lengthy window provides enough time for schools to complete the necessary data validation steps.??The webinar will be posted to?ESL/Title III Data Validation pageNational?Test?Date Information: SAT, AP, ACT??The following information is being shared on behalf of the Division of Advanced Learning and Gifted Education.? Here are the most recent updates.From College?Board:SATIn response to the rapidly evolving situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19), the College Board is canceling the May 2, 2020, SAT administration. Makeup exams for the March 14 administration (scheduled March 28) are also canceled. Registered students will receive refunds. AP Program is developing resources to help schools support student learning during extended closures, as well as a solution that would allow students to?test?at home, depending on the situation in May. Additional information will be posted by March 20.From ACT:ACT Reschedules April 2020 National ACT?Test?Date to JuneIOWA CITY, Iowa—ACT has rescheduled the April 4, 2020 national ACT?test?date to June 13, 2020 in response to concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).ACT will communicate directly with all students currently registered for the April 4, 2020 ACT?test. Our team is working on a contingency plan for testing and school needs as we also develop a clearer understanding of the timeline for possible future events. Below are updates that we would like to share with you at this time.ACT Testing March, 17Schools will not administer the ACT test tomorrow. The NCDPI is in communication with ACT to secure an alternate test date to replace the March 17th?administration. Schools must return March 17th?test date materials with the exception of answer documents. ACT has already scheduled Fed Ex pickups for March 18th?–20th. School test coordinators who plan to be in the school building during this time may use the regularly scheduled pickup. School test coordinators who do not plan to be in the building during this time should return their test materials to a staffed Fed Ex drop-off location and obtain proof of receipt.When the alternate ACT test date is scheduled the Division of Accountability Services will share testing information with the field.ACT Testing March 31The March 31st?ACT test date approved for certain schools has also been postponed. Materials have not been sent to schools for this test date, and school test coordinators should not expect these materials to arrive in schools over the next few weeks.Again, when the alternate ACT test date is scheduled the Division of Accountability Services will share testing information with the field.ACT WorkKeysThe WorkKeys test window scheduled for March 30th?–April 10th?has been postponed until further notice. As more WorkKeys testing information becomes available it will be shared with the field.?ACT Customer ServiceDistrict and school test coordinators are asked not to call the ACT customer service line for further information about future testing dates or return of testing materials. All questions about ACT testing should be referred to Regional Accountability Coordinators at this time.Contacting the Division of Accountability Staff MembersStaff members started teleworking on Friday, March 13, 2020. Public schools should not be impacted, with the exception of our telephone service. If you choose to contact staff via telephone, please leave a message.
