COURSE DESCRIPTION & HIGHTLIGTS
The ACT portion of this course uses the study guide produced by the ACT organization itself, the only book which contains actual ACT test questions from previous tests. In addition to content review and practice tests, test-taking skills and strategies are included. The computer-literacy component of the course uses a book which guides students toward success on the Internet and Computing Core Certification Exam, which certifies that students have the computer skills necessary in the modern workplace.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

• Students will review basic skills in Math, Science, Reading and Writing.
• Students will practice the ACT test.
• Students will learn the basics of computer hardware and software.
• Students will learn to produce word, excel, access and powerpoint documents.

• Students will explore internet security and ethical issues.
WHAT IS HOMEWORK LIKE IN THIS CLASS?
• Exercises from the textbooks in preparation for tests.
• Weekly practice of new material and review of old material.
• Development of documents on the computer.
TESTING: There are periodic tests in this class.

A course binder (with typed, weekly notes and assignments, as well as tests) is provided as part of the Course Binder Fee.
Laptop computers may be brought to class for the computer literacy component, but are not required.
