Subject: ACT, WorkKeys, and General Testing UpdatesThe Division of Accountability Services understands that districts and schools have many questions about the future of testing during this unprecedented time. Our team is working on a contingency plan for testing and school needs as we also develop a clearer understanding of the timeline for possible future events. Below are updates that we would like to share with you at this time. ACT Testing March, 17Schools will not administer the ACT test tomorrow. The NCDPI is in communication with ACT to secure an alternate test date to replace the March 17th administration. Schools must return March 17th test date materials with the exception of answer documents. ACT has already scheduled Fed Ex pickups for March 18th –20th. School test coordinators who plan to be in the school building during this time may use the regularly scheduled pickup. School test coordinators who do not plan to be in the building during this time should return their test materials to a staffed Fed Ex drop-off location and obtain proof of receipt. When the alternate ACT test date is scheduled the Division of Accountability Services will share testing information with the field. ACT Testing March 31The March 31st ACT test date approved for certain schools has also been postponed. Materials have not been sent to schools for this test date, and school test coordinators should not expect these materials to arrive in schools over the next few weeks. Again, when the alternate ACT test date is scheduled the Division of Accountability Services will share testing information with the field. ACT WorkKeysThe WorkKeys test window scheduled for March 30th –April 10th has been postponed until further notice. As more WorkKeys testing information becomes available it will be shared with the field. ACT Customer ServiceDistrict and school test coordinators are asked not to call the ACT customer service line for further information about future testing dates or return of testing materials. All questions about ACT testing should be referred to Regional Accountability Coordinators at this time.Contacting the Division of Accountability Staff MembersStaff members started teleworking on Friday, Match 13, 2020. Public schools should not be impacted, with the exception of our telephone service. If you choose to contact staff via telephone, please leave a message. We will be checking voicemail regularly.
