Students will go over essential questions about the farm/farmer and label/identify farm animals. Students will participate in a non-fiction read-aloud, Farm by OWL Series via YouTube link along with teachers.?Activity: Students will engage in the activity “Building Alphabet Letters/Barn Sight Words”. For our younger students, they will be provided with upper- and lower-case alphabet letters, that they will work on identifying, as well as, focusing on letters in their first name. For our older students, they will be provided with sight words. After identifying the letter(s)/words, students will build letter(s)/sight words using popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, q-tips (with adult supervision), play dough, dry erase marker, etc. Then, students can trace the letter(s)/words with their finger. Social Emotional Learning (M, W, F)/Gross Motor Activity (T, Th, F):Mojo Meets the Beast?Tuesday (Math):READ ALOUD/STORY TIME: Students will be introduced to our read aloud in our morning message. Students will go over essential questions about the farm/farmer and label/identify farm animals. Students will participate in a fiction read-aloud, Maisy’s Morning on the Farm by Lucy Cousins via YouTube link along with teachers.?Activity: Students will engage in the activity “Building Numbers”. For our younger students, they can be provided with a number card, so they can use a s a guide to match the popsicle stick onto the number card or they can use the number card as visual to assist in forming the number with popsicle sticks or other materials they have at home. Students will be working on identifying the number. Encourage them to say the number and hold up that many fingers. For our older students, they can try to make two numbers and say which number is bigger or smaller. For a challenge, they can make two numbers and add them. Then, try making the number it adds up to. Students will build numbers using popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, q-tips (with adult supervision), play dough, clay, markers, crayons, etc. Then, students can trace the number with their finger or even write it on paper. Discuss with students, which animal on the farm gives us milk. Then, introduce this fun, cool, and interesting science experiment. For young ones, encourage students to observe and notice what happens. For our older students, have them try to verbally predict/guess what they think will happen when you add food coloring to a bowl of milk. Encourage them to draw a picture before and/or write one to two words of what they think will happen. Afterwards, have your child observe to see if their prediction was correct. Have the older students make a picture of what happened (the results). Was their first drawing the same as the last drawing? Older students will be encouraged to work independently and encouraged to speak in sentences. Positive reinforcement will be provided.Teacher Assistants: TA’s will alternate presenting during Google Meet, posting on ClassDojo, recording, doing ELA/Math/Science/SEL/Gross Motor activities, and Story Time/Read Aloud. ................
