2) Gain access to the factory radio’s rear panel.

The CPHONAUXPD connects directly to the rear panel of the factory radio. Full or partial disassembly of the dash will be necessary. If you are unsure of this procedure, please consult a factory service manual or have the work performed by a mobile electronics specialist. Pay special attention to warnings or instructions regarding working near airbags, other safety devices or security systems.

3) Connect the CPHONAUXPD harnesses to the factory radio (See image on back).

If a factory wiring harness is present: Disconnect the factory harness from the factory radio’s 14-pin (white) connector. Connect the male 14-pin plug of the CPHONAUXPD wiring harness to the factory radio’s female 14-pin connector, then reconnect the original14-pin factory plug to the 14-pin female plug of the CPHONAUXPD harness.

If no factory wiring harness is present: Connect the male 14-pin plug of the CPHONAUXPD wiring harness to the factory radio’s female 14-pin connector the 14-pin female plug will remain empty after installation.

4) Connect the iPod-to-RCA cable to the CPHONAUXPD interface box. (See diagram on back of this sheet)

Connect the Red RCA-type connector (Right Channel) of the iPod-to-RCA interconnect cable to the Red RCA-type connector on the interface box. Connect the Black RCA-type connector of the iPod-to-RCA interconnect cable to the White RCA-type connector on the interface box.

Connect the iPod to the iPod-to-RCA cable by plugging the 30-pin dock connector of the cable into the bottom 30-pin connector on the bottom of the iPod.

Connect the Black Ground wire of the Power Harness to an available chassis ground. Connect the Red 12V switched power wire to an available 12V switched power source.

5) Mount all components.

Mount the CPHONAUXPD behind or under the dash in a location to your liking. Be careful not to drill into wiring or vehicle mechanisms. Ensure that the iPod cable is routed to a convenient location for connection to your iPod.

6) Test the interface operation.

With the CPHONAUXPD passing audio, test the iPod input by pressing either the mode button, the CD/AUX/XM button, or the CD/AUX button (depending on radio) until you have selected the input source the CPHONAUXPD is using. iPod audio should now be heard through the radio speakers.
