UX/UI Process for Everyone: Part 1 of the two-part series.Resource GuideWelcome to the resource guide where I give you links to great solid resources. Some of these are free and some are paid, find out the one that works best for you. I will add to this list as time goes on. Please let me know if you notice a link no longer works, I will do my best to keep this updated and fresh. Programs to use to create User Flow DiagramsOverflow (Mac only) use this program in the class. Currently in beta, this is a fantastic program to download and try. Very polished and super quick to figure out. It is currently available for Mac OS users, but they are working on a windows version to be released soon. Microsoft PowerPoint of you guys may already have access to this program. It has a wide Varity of shapes, lines and arrows you can use to create a flow chart or user flow diagram. Remember, your user flow chart does not need to include detailed layout design, just the simple actions and steps in your app or website. Draw great thing about this app is it is completely FREE, you just need to authorize a storage place first, I use google drive so this was very quick to get set up. A little more basic then something like overflow of flowmapp, but it is one of the few totally FREE options that focuses on user flows. FlowMapp great option to create polished looking flow diagrams. The interface is more basic and focuses more on the classic user flow charts with simple shapes and arrows. This is a paid app. Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop you are a graphic designer or creative by trade, you may already have access to these programs. You can create the same user flow charts in Adobe illustrator using shape, line and pen tools. Downloadable ResourcesMake sure you download the .zip file containing two Adobe Illustrator templates for both the User Persona and the User Journey Map. I have also included examples of the class project we work on together in the lessons so you can reference that during the class as a rough guide for your own project. Free Photos Need a photo for your user persona, or any other project in this class? I have found all of mine on . Make sure you check the licenses for each photo. Photos with a CreativeCommons license (CC0) are free to use for any project without having to give a credit ora reference to the photographer. My go-to for free photos. Similar to Pexels and might even be owned by the same company. There are different sets of photos on here, although some of their photo libraries overlap. This website has a smaller pool of photos, but they are different than the abovetwo libraries.Blogs and great resources:Please send ideas for blogs and community connections I can include if you know of a great link. Instagram and Facebook group ideas welcome as well!
