The celebration of a girl’s 15th birthday can be traced back to the Mayan tradition that celebrated the girl’s birthday as a passage into adulthood when she would be ready to become an adult. It has been transformed into a religious rite of passage where the girl at the age of 15 becomes a fully participating member of the church.This activity will require all students to participate but not necessarily in the same way. There are different roles that must be filled. The “project” is going to count as 50 points for each student, no matter which role they are assigned/choose.
