Keeping Your Information Safe From Scams

Technology has created many more options for cardholders to access accounts and make purchases, fraud too has opened up more sophisticated avenues. It's a good reminder to check your accounts frequently and be skeptical about calls, texts, and emails wanting your personal information. We will never send an email or text with a link to click on. A valid text or email from SACU will have you respond with a yes or no, help or stop. We will never ask for your card's PIN, please do not give out your PIN to anybody. If you are traveling, please give us a travel notice to avoid your card from being blocked.

Thank You!

SACU would like to thank you for your membership and wish you a happy and prosperous new year. May all your dreams and goals become a reality in 2020.

Holiday Club Account

How many of you ask yourself, "I wished I saved more money for the holiday season"? Now is the perfect time to start saving for the 2020 holiday season or another event that you wish to save for, it's not just for the holidays. Maybe it's for a car, wedding, vacation or taxes. No minimum balance required, higher interest rate of return on your savings, one-time withdrawal per year. In October we automatically transfer all the funds in the Holiday Account to your regular savings so you don't have to. You can even set up an automatic transfer every month to help you save.

MANY NEW AND EXCITING CHANGES COMING FALL OF 2020

SACU is always striving to keep up with all the technology changes in the world of finance. This fall we will be implementing a new Credit Union banking software. There will be changes to the website, Apps, online banking and more. So please be patient as we will all be learning a new computer system, which will have lots of new and beneficial features for our members.

WARM THEIR HEARTS & THEIR FEET WITH NEW SOCKS

Give the gift of socks to the northland community in honor of a loved one instead of candy for Valentine's Day. We will be collecting new socks of all sizes at each of our offices in February and donating them to CHUM and Union Gospel Mission for distribution to those in need.

SACU AND ITS MEMBERS

GAVE BACK TO THE

COMMUNITY IN 2019

In 2019 we had fundraisers for Second Harvest Food Bank and Essentia NICU.

We raised $500.50 from our July BBQ in which SACU matched 100% and presented a donation to Second Harvest Food bank for $1,001.00

In October members donated $75 in cash and gift cards and 100 items for the Essentia NICU which

totaled 6 big boxes of needed supplies. Essentia NICU and its families were very appreciative of your generous donations. People Helping People is such a powerful thing.

Did you know that we now offer Visa credit cards?

We started our Visa Credit Card Program last fall. Check out our website for full details on the program. If you have a Visa Credit Card, you can use the CardValet App to turn your own card on and off, set restrictions on transactions by type, location and amount.

Help Support Polar Plunge This February

Gabby Spence from SACU will be jumping into Lake Superior February 15th to raise money for the Minnesota Special Olympics. If you would like to help support this worthy cause, we will put up a donation link on our Facebook page, or you can drop off your donation at any of our three branches.

Youth Savings Account

Did you know you can start a savings account as soon as your little one receives his/her social security number? Teach your loved ones how to save by depositing coin, birthday money and other monetary gifts. Establish a percentage to save, spend and donate. What a better way to show your youngster how to save for their future. So many times, we've heard the saying "they have way too much stuff", sound familiar? Deposit the money you would have spent on "stuff" for them and see how it grows. At the age of fifteen students are eligible for a free checking account and a free debit card. A healthy savings account for college (or something else) won't seem so out of reach if you start when they are young.
