The Third Sunday after Pentecost

June 9, 2024

Announcements

Our Mission Focus Offering for June will go to the Lutheran Social Services Community Food Pantry. We will receive donations of nonperishable food items, which can be placed in the collection boxes near the fellowship hall entrance. In addition, on the last Sunday of the month (June 30), we will gather a monetary offering which LSS can use to purchase needed items. Checks should be made payable to Good Shepherd, and earmarked LSS Food Pantry. Thanks for whatever support the Lord enables you to give.

Our Wednesday Morning Bible Class has concluded and will take a hiatus for the summer months. We will resume after Rally Day in the fall.

District News: English District Bishop and President Jamison Hardy has been called to serve as the new president of the Concordia University System and has accepted that call. He will begin his new duties in August, which means that our District's First Vice President, Jeff Miskus, will assume the office of Bishop/District President from now until next summer's convention, when elections to this office will next be held. We pray from Pastors Hardy and Miskus, and ask God's blessing upon each of them in their new duties.

The schedule of the Church Office this week will be sporadic as Pastor Scott will be working from home while LeAnne recovers from hip replacement surgery. If you need access to the building, we advise that you call ahead to see if someone is in the office to receive you. In the event of an emergency requiring pastoral assistance, please call Pr. Scott at (567) 8689936.

Life Quotes: "For the Christian, changing hearts and minds isn't just about meeting bodily needs; it also means connecting our neighbor to the true source of life--Christ Himself. It means providing for her needs in this world and the next by boldly intertwining our works and words of mercy with the gift of mercy Himself. It means helping him carry the crosses of this world on the way to his heavenly home." Michelle Bauman, Director of Y4Life ? A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life ?
