Adverbs answer these questions:
• How? ( or - To what extent?)
• When? (or - How often?)
• Where?
Examples: (describing verbs)
1. Chris thought carefully about the plan (How did he think?)
2. He answered the text immediately. (When did he answer?)
3. The kids ran outside. (Where did they run?)

1. The dog is very friendly (To what extent is the friendliness?/How friendly?)
2. The test was extremely difficult (To what extent is the difficulty?/How difficult?)
