Job title: Aerobics Instructor

Responsible To: Leisure Centre Supervisor, Health & Wellbeing Development

JOB PURPOSE

To plan and provide instruction in aerobic classes for customers at the Leisure

Centres (Weight Management Classes).

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To deliver high quality weekly weight management sessions

2. To demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity in both the delivery of

services and to staff.

3. To comply with Northampton Leisure Trust Policies and Procedures at all

times.

4. To ensure reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and

welfare of yourself and others and to comply with policies and procedures

relating to health and safety within the Trust.

5. To carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, levels

and purpose of this job description.

PEOPLE AND RESOURCES

The job holder is responsible for the following people and resources:

Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all enrolled on to the

programme

?

Responsible for NLT equipment

?

Responsible for NLT uniform

Job-holder¡¯s position in relation to their manager, peers and direct reports:

The post holder is directly managed by the Leisure Centre Supervisor and

indirectly managed by the Health & Wellbeing Development Team.

JOB DEMANDS

This job entails the following demands:

?

To ensure the smooth and safe running of the aerobic class.

?

Responsible for care of studio fitness equipment, stereo and head mic

system.

?

Responsible for setting up and setting down of equipment within the time of

the class.

?

Ensure Health and Safety of centre customers participating in the class.

?

Report any equipment fault or concerns to the Senior Fitness Instructor or

Health and Fitness Development Officer.

?

To undertake any other duties commensurate with the position as designated

by the line manager

?

To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety, and

welfare of yourself and other persons and to comply with the policies and

procedures relating to health and safety within the Leisure Trust

?

In carrying out the duties of the post, you must have regard to the Trusts
