Program Committee Description

The responsibilities and duties of the Program Committee are:

1. Present preliminary ideas for programs for the upcoming year to the Board.

2. Determine Committee’s annual budget – mainly speaker donations.

3. Recruit speakers for monthly member meetings.

a. Dates: Determined by Board; normally Third Thursday of month; 8 meetings per year; September – June (no meetings in either Nov or Dec and May)

b. Location: Rotates City and Suburb

4. Submit program information to national AFP for approval and certification for CTP/CCM recertification credits.

5. Submit national AFP’s approval form certification to GSS who places it at each meeting’s registration table.

6. Prepare meeting notice to be given to GSS for upcoming meeting which includes a short explanation of the upcoming speaker’s topic as well as synopsis of the speaker’s biography.

7. Greet and introduce speaker at monthly meetings.

8. Follow up with speaker for charity donation and coordinate the payment of the donation (all donations take place at end of year).

9. Follow up with speaker to get presentation slides and work with GSS to have slides on website for members.
