It’s one style I have always looked up to because it always seemed like they didn’t care what anyone else thought and just focused on their selves which I really liked. Art:Bold colours: I’ve always liked the way you can play with different colour and how much they stand out no matter where it is it will always grab your attention and create and effect. Figure 4 Mark Chadwick Fluid 114 Abstract: The way the colours all flow together and what it shows on canvas where you are able to express yourself in multiple forms.Pop art: The reason why I like pop art is through the bright colours and the comic like pieces of art which attracts the eye straight away and can be shown in various formats usually based on prints such as lino printing.Artists:Roy Lichtenstein: His art was associated with the movement of pop art where he produced comic like art each piece was created with acrylic paint where it was all collated into dots to produce his many renowned pieces that can be seen crossed the worldAndy Warhol: He is another artist who created pieces whilst the art movement pop art was at its highest popularity. His work got famous by him doing adverts and portraits such as famous actress marlyin Monroe by only using primary colours and that’s really what it was all about.Matt Damon – Art director : He is a lecturer at UAL, director and art director of the adverts everyone raves about which is shown for the M&S adverts the brightness of the crisp colours as it all flows together into a master piece of only its own individual kind. It’s an art in its own form however with food the cinematic shots shown and combines together through the music and visuals that are just so memorable and something that I have never seen before. Figure 5 M&S Advert the art of autumnTim Burton: Figure 6 Tim Burton Art – Monsters and ColoursTim burton an American film director, who’s known for his dark twists towards his films with mixing horror with fantasy creating a world of his own. Whether it’s animated or live action. How he uses his mental health and imagination to bring them to life to share to his audience with directing a spectrum of films from a new turn on the Popular Disney animation turned live action Alice in wonderland, Beetlejuice and DC Batman and batman returns. The variety he has and the talent even if it shows through characters you would never expect to see with every film he creates it’s a surprise and when watching his films you always have to have an open mind because who knows what he will come up with next. I just love his style of directing and how he always knows how to have his own artsy dark spin on a film or set designs which take you places you know you’ve never been before. Through using always similar actors in every film which I enjoy seeing each one transform into to what you call a typical one of a kind character.Wes Anderson:Figure 7 The Grand Budapest HotelAnother American director who has again created his own path way and own style of directing and vision having what you would say indie films produced into a master piece of cinema with always a historic or cinie cam edge to his films and story’s you would never expect to be addressed. Like Tim burton he also has a very distinctive visual and narrative style such as one of my most loved films the grand Budapest Hotel (2014).M&S Advert M&S Food: Adventures in Fiesta TV Advert 2016: Mind hunter Netflix TV show: Figure 8 Mind HunterThis is an American series which is a live action psychological based in the 1970’s follows FBI agents interviewing US serial killers and recording their behaviours for them to develop a system which categorizes killers/serial killers and able to predict future behaviours which is based on a book called Mind hunter: Inside the FBIS Elite serial crime unit.Psychology within the mind: The?mind?is about mental processes, thought and consciousness. The body is about the physical aspects of the brain-neurons and how the brain is structured. The?mind-body problem is about how these two interact.31375350Here is the process of my creative piece for the Who am I task00Here is the process of my creative piece for the Who am I taskFigure 9 Photo taken by meFigure 10 Photo take by meFigure 11 Photo taken by meChapter 2 – The ReportThe 1980’s an era where most films came to life and still had originality to them, to the start of famous franchises and to many successful careers. Im here to explore 80’s films and to look at the actors and style of how each film is portrayed and given a connection to.It was the start of many careers to with Tom cruise that is very well known a crossed the world had his first ever film called endless love in 1981.The style of the acting and genre. As noticeably I looked through the most popular films within the 80’s and it all went through to Rom com or Sci-fi it changed so much throughout the 80’s and I believe it was where Hollywood was at its highest in comparison to the British film industry at the time.I’ve always loved the feel of an 80’s film the texture of the film to the storyline that makes you realise how much filmmaking and technology has progressed. Here is a list of the top 10 highest grossing films in the 80’s E.t the extra-terrestrial (1982) this was Director Steven Spielberg’s first major block buster of his time with the film even still being talked about till this day this had grossed $435.1 M with a 10.5 million dollar budget which was absolutely huge amount of money at the time. This is where his career set him off through this film and the originality to it in which no one had ever seen before.Star Wars : Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) This was the 3rd instalment of Star wars from where the original storyline took place and more drama and attention was drawn to it with the original cast and taking you back to when it first came out and the excitement all of the public were to see the next one. Although the franchise is still going you can never compare a episode of an original star wars episode to the latest one Star Wars: The last Jedi (2017) This grossed 309.13 M with the budget being 32 million dollars Star wars: Episode V – Empire Strikes (1980) this was the second instalment from the star wars franchise this was in 1980 after the first one had been released back in 1977 and was the start and one of the most remarkable moments when Luke sky walker begins his Jedi training with Yoda.Which grossed 290.48 M dollars Budget: $18 MBatman (1989)This was the start of a whole new franchise and the even more popularity for Dc as well as having a Batman Television series to this was only however released at the very end of the 80’s but it sure did pay of this is directed by Tim Burton which im sure came as such a surprise when people heard of him to direct a DC film and not one of his peculiar misfit gothic films. As this was following the film Beetlejuice (1988) this grossed $251.19 M with the budget of $ 35 M.The Film was again another franchise in which started up this was called Raiders of the lost Ark which is the first of the Indiana Jones series. This was at the very beginning of 1980’s with it being released in 1981 with a grossing of $248.16 MThe style of 80’s the most popular genre of the time was Sci-Fi, horror and action as well as a lot of coming of age films such as Sixteen candles and Ferris bullers day off and many more which are still renowned in todays society. The 80’s this was such an important era for the inspiration in which now in the 21st century where tv shows and films are based on those experiences such as the Award winning Tv show Strange Things (2016) although it was a sci-fi film its based within the 80’s with how they talk, dress, technology its all associated with what you call the last of the originals well that’s what I like to call it. The 80’s in what I believe were one of the last decades before people started to be inspired by films and have a similar twist to them. From when seven Spielberg created his second film from Jaws it was like the start of hit after hit with Steven Spielberg’s booming success even now.80’s Films which inspired Stranger Things (2016)But now Im going to look at How one of Netflix’s popular Series Stranger Things (2016) got inspired by 80’s films and what ones. However, in my view Stranger Things has turned out to be a mix of all of these films combined. One of the most successful Franchises Alien (1979) which made Ridley Scott known for him Directing this Sci-fi classic, So we meet the crew in Indiana this is exactly where stranger things is set where the Duffer brothers took inspiration from the Horror and Sci-Fi classic from the upside down world and the design of the Demogorgon’s.However, at the beginning of the Film industry within the 80’s it still had the influence of the 70’s culture and industry and the same with the end of the 80’s although it had its own style however this is what inspired the early 90’s films. Altered States (1980) by British director in which he used Films to create a new style a controversial style and flamboyant which was very new and un expected for the 80’s but this film has a few influential scenes, this is a Cult classic where a guy explores the theory of human conciseness and this sounds very similar to the first time Eleven is plunged into her sensory deprivation tank to access the upside down world.E.T: The Extra Terrestrial (1982) This is a Steven Spielberg classic and a film where everyone is still talking about it till this very day. As e.t is about a group of kids protecting a powerful new friend sound something very similar to Mike, Dustin and Lucas protecting Eleven.Fire starter (1984) It shows This Tv show was inspired by many of Steven Kings Fire starter and IT. Fire starter is based on a young girl called Charlie Mcgee which is growing powers which are a inherited result of a shadowy government programme and again which is very similar to who and where Eleven was originally from .All I can say is that there are many more films I can add to the list I have already created it shows how much films and director influence the 21st century and generation of films now days you can never get an original film that isn’t based on a film or some kind of experience or type of media.John Hughes he was a popular film director within the late 80’s and 90’s where he directed films such as the breakfast club (1985), Ferris Burller’s day off and sixteen candles I see them as chick flicks the time and era where styles and ways of romance changed but based on teenagers rather than the typical based on a 20-year-old rom com. John Hughes was an American Film director, producer and screen writer. Where he directed some of the most successful comedy and teen films of the 1980’s. He also wrote a couple of books too. However, there’s to many countless films im sure even now we watch 30 years on from him creating these one of a kind styles and ideas that many now days at least try to replicate or be inspired by to create another similar film of that kind. However, John Hughes unfortunately died in 2009 at the age of 59 but even now they are creating remakes of his directing styles.Bibliography:ReferencesAnderson, W. Each experiment needs: -An introductionA clear explanation of what was undertaken A conclusion of how this information was used by you.ExampleIntroduction I am interested in lighting. I want to see how it is possible to film at night so that you can still see the action. I think this is an interesting skill to develop as it is making me further understand the technical aspects of lighting, and shows how lighting can become part of the narrative.Research Question – How to film at night? (so you can still see the action)Research plan – Literature review of any YouTube videos of “How to film at night”. Review on “Making of DVD’s” from famous night based films – any film noir filmReview any Ted TalksInternet search on the technical aspects of Analysis of Literature Review – what has your research revealed to you? What did you find out? What of that new information can you use? Design your Experiment – using your analysisExperiment – in TV studio, in Bedroom, outside.Analysis – of results of experiment, what worked? What didn’tExplanation of what was undertakenFollowing my literature review, it became clear that my darkness was never going to be real darkness. I had learnt the type of lights and reflectors that I needed to use. I practiced in a variety of locations. I then showed the footage to peers and lecturers to gauge their opinion. I also posted it to Twitter and gain some very helpful responses. ConclusionIt didn’t do what I really wanted. To get the scene as dark as I wanted, the actors had to have unnaturally bright lights on them which was not the look I wanted. It looked to staged and filmnoir”e”. I am going to experiment now, with filming at dusk, to see if that gives me more tonal variation, and allows for the feeling of dark, but the ability to see the action. We must be able to see all that you do. It does not serve you just to post the footage of “My filming in the Dark”. We must see the whole journey, from start to finish. You need to tell us what you did, what you learnt and how you might use it.You must also include any experiments that don’t work, and tell us why. You can learn as much from what went wrong as what went right.Chapter 4 - Unit 12 Presentation and Plans for Unit 13This chapter will include your presentation that you have given to the class and lecturers detailing the work and research you have produced, and your analysis of how that work, research and experimentation have informed your plans for Unit 13.Chapter 5 - Weekly Schedule of Work Week 1 w/c January 1st2018Introduction to Unit 12PowerPointMain Research Question: -AMPMApprovedTasks to be undertaken this weekMonday am x 3Wednesday am x 3Who am I?Monday Tuesday Presentation Doing the scheduleStarting the who am I with a mind map Looking into what my passions are whether that’s associated with my subject or not.Go into more detail and create a mood board, collage or Wednesday Monday pm x 2Thursday am x 3Tuesday am x 2Thursday pm x 1Tuesday pm x 2Friday am x 3Wednesday am x 2Friday pm x 1Week 2w/c January 8th 2018The Report PowerPointMain Research Question: -ApprovedTasks to be undertaken this weekMonday am x 3Wednesday am x 3Monday pm x 2Thursday am x 3Tuesday am x 2Thursday pm x 1Tuesday pm x 2Friday am x 3Wednesday am x 2Friday pm x 1Week 2w/c January 8th 2018The Report PowerPointMain Research Question: -AMPMApprovedTasks to be undertaken this weekMonday am x 3Wednesday am x 3Literature reviewMonday Presentation Looking at the subject I want to take an interest to.Looking at a variety of adverts comparing it between gender roles.Tuesday Presentation Looking further into it the eras and then comparing it between Britain and America.Wednesday Continuing and hopefully coming to a conclusion.
