Basic Life Support Renewal Course 2019Purpose and Intended AudienceTo enable healthcare providers in the lifesaving skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO) defined by the American Heart Association (AHA). This course can be utilized for renewal training Objectives/Learner OutcomesUpon completion of the course, the participant will be able to:Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and early defibrillation and its impact on survival.Describe the steps in the chain of survival and apply those steps to BLS.Successfully complete BLS skills in Adult CPR/AED, Child BLS, Infant BLS, Team Dynamics, and Choking.Learn the components of high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants.Demonstrate and successfully use the appropriate use of an AED.Demonstrate effective use of a barrier device and a bag-valve-mask device.Describe the technique for relief of choking in an adult, child, and pleted the written exam with a score of 84% or higher.Pre-requisitesMust have a current BLS cardAgendaFaculty and Dress CodeDay 1: Faculty: Certified AHA BLS InstructorsCourse introductionDress code: Business casual.
