Key Qualifications :

Mr. A. K. Dixit is a Graduate Civil Engineer having 19 years of professional experience in the field of highways for project management, construction supervision, quality assurance programs and plans, quality control of material and contract execution of major roads, highways and bridges involving strengthening, widening, rehabilitation works for flexible and rigid pavements. He has worked as Quality cum Material Engineer on a number of construction supervision and maintenance supervision projects of National Highways/State Highways including projects funded by Asian Development Bank & World Bank under FIDIC conditions of contract and codal Specifications of IRC, MOST, BIS, ASTM and other relevant specifications. Has extensive experience in testing of construction materials to ensure quality control of work at different stages of construction as per specification of contracts, reviewed test results of bore holes, quarry and borrow area, established / assisted laboratory set up, supervised the setting up of bituminous mixing plant. During his various assignments, he has specialize in field and laboratory testing of construction materials, review of bituminous and concrete mix designs and laying procedure, preparation of quality manuals, inspection and approval of all material sources like borrow areas for soil, quarries of aggregates, quality of materials according to the acceptance criteria on the basis of IRC / MORTH specifications. Project: Construction Supervision for 4-laning of Barwadda to Gorhar of V – C Package on NH-2 between km. 320.00 to km. 398+750. (World Bank Funded) Project Length: 78.75 Km, Project Cost: INR 420 crores, Client: NHAI.

Construction of earthwork, which includes testing of field densities, proper alignment of road, keeping records of total number of layer laid at different chainages as per line, grades, side slopes of uniform thickness 200mm compacted, omc measured & within limits (+ 1% above & 2% below omc ). Compaction tests performed on each layer. Finishing operations-formation- surface tolerances +20mm to –25mm for both embankment cut, fill & sub grade. On preparation of sub grade as of three layers of 200mm, 150mm, &150mm, vegetation &extraneous matter removed, surface watered & rolled with two passes of smooth drum roller. On prepared sub grade Geotextile fabric placed ensuring no folds & wrinkles, corrected overlap of 1.00mt longitudinally & 30cm transversally. On prepared sub grade (laid Geotextile) Granular material is laid in two layers of 150mm each which is tested, approved & is free of organic & other deleterious matter & gradation as per specifications. GSB should be completed, compacted surface closed, free from movement under compaction equipment, cracks & loose material & no segregation there. After finished, surface irregularity under 3mt straight edge should be checked as max 8mm & horizontal alignment of +- 25mm. On prepared GSB, WMM material is laid in two layers of 125mm each & controlled by depth blocks & as per drawing. Max dry density should be 98%.On prepared WMM layer, prime coat is done by sprayer of rate 6-8 kg/10m2 or as per design & it should be dry for min. 24 hrs, then a tack coat is sprayed at the rate of 2.5 to 3.5 kg/10m2 as per design & DBM of 100mm each of two layers are laid. Temperature of mix at completion of rolling should be minimum of 100c.At the time of laying it should be 120c to 160c. At last 40mm bituminous concrete is laid as per drawing

Responsible for formulation and establishing quality assurance plan and system / programmer and ensuring its implementation in the fieldwork, Geo-technical investigations, collection of samples according to specifications, review and acceptance of quarry sites, borrow areas, inspection and quality control of materials, soil, aggregates, bitumen. Responsible for quality production of WMM material from WMM plant, DBM/BM mix from hot mix plant with approved materials and composition of layers. Inspect layout of centerline, layout of curves, alignment, level and profile. Review / establish relevant asphalt mix design of DBM/ BM/ BC mix, ensuring works are executed as per contract specifications.

Also responsible for assistance in setting up of field laboratory for carrying out field and laboratory tests and maintaining record of test results, calibration of contractor’s equipments and also monitoring, construction Methodology. Inspect works, workmanship, materials, material sources at various stages of work related to highway i.e. sub-grade, GSB, WMM, DBM, BC. Attend field & laboratory tests conducted by Contractor & conduct independent tests.
