2020 DENVER BRONCOS DRAFT

BRONCOS SLATED TO PICK AT NO. 15 FOR FIFTH TIME BRONCOS ALL-TIME FIRST-ROUND PICKS (SINCE 1967)

The Broncos are scheduled to pick at No. 15 in the NFL Draft for the fifth time, the most for a single first-round pick (No. 20, 4x) in franchise history. Denver's success drafting at No. 15 includes three players who each played at least 100 career games and spent their entire careers with the team (G Tom Glassic, 1976; S Dennis Smith, 1981; LB John Mobley, 1996).

The No. 15 selection netted Ring of Famer and

six-time Pro Bowler Smith (1981-94) as well as

two-time Super Bowl Champion and 1997 first-

team All-Pro Mobley (1996-2003). Cornerback Year Ovr.

Deltha O'Neal (2000-03)--a Pro Bowler in his 1967 6

second season with Denver in 2001--and Glassic 1970 11

(1976-83), who appeared in 105 games with the Broncos during 1971 12

the course of his eight-year career, were also selected at No. 15. 1972 5

The No. 15 pick is the only selection in team history to lead to three players earning at least one Pro Bowl/All-Pro recognition. Only one other pick in team history has led to multiple Pro Bowlers/ All-Pros (No. 40, WR Courtland Sutton/LB Ian Gold).

2020 DENVER BRONCOS DRAFT

HIGHEST BRONCOS DRAFT PICKS

If the Broncos select with their slated No. 15 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, it will be tied for the 15th-highest draft pick in team history during the modern draft era.

Top 15 picks in franchise history have included 10 offensive players and five defensive players, including Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Floyd Little and guard Chris Hinton, who was traded to the Baltimore Colts for Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway following the 1983 NFL Draft.

Denver's highest draft choice was linebacker Von Miller, who was selected by the club with the No. 2 overall pick in 2011 from Texas A&M. Miller, the MVP of Super Bowl 50, was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2010s after leading the entire NFL with 112.5 overall sacks during the decade.

BRONCOS HISTORY DRAFTING IN THE TEENS

Denver has picked in the teens (13-19) 11 times during the modern draft era. In addition to the team's success at No. 15 (see page 3), the Broncos selected Ring of Famers linebacker Randy Gradishar (No. 14 - 1974, Ohio State) and cornerback Louis Wright (No. 17 - 1975, San Jose State) when drafting in the teens.

Gradishar, who was scheduled to announce one of Denver's Day 2 picks live from the NFL Draft in Las Vegas, is a three-time Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist (2003, `08, `19 - Centennial Class).

BRONCOS OWN FIVE PICKS IN THE TOP 100 & THREE THIRD-ROUND SELECTIONS

Denver owns five top-100 picks, including three third-round picks, entering the 2020 NFL Draft. If the team uses all five picks, it would mark the first time in the Elway draft era (2011-pres.) and the third time since the league expanded to 32 teams in 2002 that the Broncos make five top-100 picks (2009 & 2010 drafts).

If the Broncos use all three third-round selections (No. 77, 83 & 95), it would mark the second time Denver drafted three players in the third round since 2015 when they drafted defensive back Karl Paymah (Wash. St., No. 76), defensive back Domonique Foxworth (Maryland, No. 97) and running back Maurice Clarett (Ohio State, No. 101).

BRONCOS AT NO. 46 (SECOND ROUND)

Denver is slated to make its second selection at No. 46, a position it has drafted from twice in the common draft era (since 1967), picking Miami (Fla.) tackle Orlando Franklin in 2011 and Mississippi defensive end Andre Townsend in 1984.

Franklin started 63 regular-season games (47 at RT; 16 at LG) and seven postseason games (6 at RT; 1 at LG) during his four years as a Bronco (2011-14). He started at right tackle for Denver in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Townsend appeared in 104 regular-season games, 10 postseason games and three Super Bowls (XXI, XXII & XXIV) during his seven-year career (1984-90) with the Broncos. He finished his career with 22 sacks and six fumble recoveries.

Below is a look at the last 10 players selected with the 46th overall pick in the NFL Draft.

2020 DENVER BRONCOS DRAFT

BRONCOS AT NO. 77 (THIRD ROUND)

Denver's third selection in the 2020 NFL Draft comes at No. 77, a position it has selected once during the modern draft era.

In 1979, the Broncos selected Grambling State nose tackle Bruce Radford in the third round. He played one season with Denver.

Below is a look at the last 10 players selected with the 77th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Among the players selected at No. 77 during this time is Broncos defensive lineman Jurrell Casey (Southern Cal.), who was drafted by Tennessee in 2011 and was named to five consecutive Pro Bowls (2015-19) as a member of the Titans.

BRONCOS AT NO. 83 (THIRD ROUND)

Denver's fourth selection in the 2020 NFL Draft comes at No. 83, a pick that was acquired in a trade with Pittsburgh during the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In the trade, Denver acquired the No. 20 pick (Iowa TE Noah Fant), the No. 52 pick (traded to Cincinnati) and a 2020 third-round pick in exchange for the No. 10 pick (Michigan LB Devin Bush).

The Broncos have never selected at No. 83. Below is a look at the last 10 players selected with the 83rd overall pick in the NFL Draft.

The 83rd overall pick in the NFL Draft also produced Stanford wide receiver Ed McCaffrey (NYG, 1991), a three-time Super Bowl champion and 1998 Pro Bowler as a Bronco. McCaffrey played the final nine seasons of his career in Denver, and he currently ranks in the top five in franchise annals in receptions (462 - 5th), receiving yards (6,200 - 5th) and receiving touchdowns (46 - 5th).

BRONCOS AT NO. 95 (THIRD ROUND)

Denver's fifth overall and third third-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft comes at No. 95, a pick that was acquired from San Francisco as part of the wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders trade in 2019. The Broncos have twice made a pick at No. 95 in the common draft era (since 1967).

Denver drafted Ring of Fame wide receiver and NFL All-Decade (1970s - first team, 1980s - second team) returner Rick Upchurch with the 95th pick (4th Rd.) of the 1975 NFL Draft. Upchurch was selected to four Pro Bowls during his nine-year NFL career--all as a Bronco (1975-83)--and still holds all of the team's major punt return and total return touchdowns (8) records.

In 2015, the Broncos drafted Michigan offensive lineman Michael Schofield. He started 29 games over two seasons and was Denver's starting right tackle in its Super Bowl 50 win over Carolina.

Below is a look at the last 10 players selected with the 95th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Among the players selected at No. 95 during this time is Broncos guard Graham Glasgow (Michigan), who was drafted by Detroit in 2016. He is the only player in the NFL to start at least 14 games at each of the three interior offensive line positions over the last four years.
