Introductions were made of those in attendance. New coaches Charlie Kuehn, Baseball, and Andy Neal, Softball, were introduced and welcomed. Mr. Baldridge noted that a record of attendance of team reps and coaches was being kept for the monthly meetings and that teams were encouraged to have a representative at each meeting. Patti Sheedy, Athletic Director reported that the appeal to the VHSL for Patrick Henry to be moved to 5A North for the 2015-16 school year had been approved. The new conference will consist of Patrick Henry-Roanoke, Patrick Henry-Ashland, Atlee, Halifax, Albemarle and Orange. While Patrick Henry was the smallest 6A school, there are two schools in the 5A that are larger. The conferences can be redone every two years. She reported that the first week of practices at Patrick Henry had gone well and that numbers participating were larger than last year. Some teams will be playing Cosby and James River to get ready for possible regional matchups. It was noted that the final two coaching positions have been filled with Charlie Kuehn and Andy Neal. Discussion followed on preparation for the home football games – having the bathrooms clean, possible need for auxiliary bleachers, port-a-johns and presale of tickets for the Salem game. Last year’s Treasurer Stewart Barnes reported for Lori Privott. He handed out the Financial Reports for the period ending June 30, 2014 and noted that the reports were up to date. Ab Boxley moved that the Treasurer’s report be accepted as presented. The motion was seconded by Sandra Kuehn and passed.Duke Baldridge, Allocations, reported on one allocation request for equipment needed to support the HUDL video system currently in use by several teams. Patti Sheedy requested that $2,400 be available to purchase two IPads, four video cameras, and four tripods. Ms. Sheedy requested $1,200 from the General Fund and $1,200 from her account or a separate team account. Sandra Kuehn made a motion for $1,200 to be used from the General Fund for the video purchases. Jimmy Butler seconded the motion. Motion passed. Sandra Kuehn made a second motion for $1,200 to be used from the AD account to fund the remaining half of the video purchases. Stu Snyder seconded the motion. Motion passed. Stewart Barnes, Fundraising, reported that he was in the process of selling stadium signs. He asked the board to push selling signs and to distribute the membership brochures to boost the General Fund. Revenue from signs is no longer being allocated to teams but to the General Fund. His goal is to have the stadium full with signage to show community support for Patrick Henry. Erin Hutchinson, Membership, reported that she had worked on Business Days and would continue to distribute the brochure to schools for their take home packages. She will also work a table at the football games to sign up members. Sandra Kuehn, Concessions, reported that the coke delivery was in process. She also reported that Stacy Ripple had the concessions schedule almost full. Trudy Brailsford, Community, reported that a fall “Pep Rally” will be held on August 25 at 6 PM in the stadium. She is in the process of contacting vendors for pricing for barbecue. Sponsors are also being sought for the event. New Business: Steve Francis reported that Band was having a “Patriots for Patriots” concert on August 23 at 7 PM in the Gym to honor veterans. Mr. Baldridge reminded the board to promote membership and sign sales. The meeting adjourned at 7:39 PM.Trudy Brailsford, Secretary ................
