The Social Revolution – Remember meOne of the first points made in the video was that the greatest computer is our minds, and to strengthen his point, what computer can create other computers? What computer has discovered millions of animals or designed equally as many buildings? What computer can evolve or adapt to its surroundings? No computer has ever been able to tell emotions, power its self, and teach other computers to follow in its footsteps spawning forward generations of equally intelligent descendants.People these days have gotten themselves immersed so deeply into technology that they have lost contact with what really counts for something. This something is human interaction. Without these interactions, life becomes obscure and shrouded in a cloak of fake relationships. Technology cannot produce connections between people. Real networks can only be properly created by leaving this synthetic world and comfort-zone to experience and strengthen the bonds which are made as a result of human nature. The further in we get in this surreal fantasy-land the more difficult it will become to escape its clutches. A quote from Albert Einstein illustrates one of his many visions of the future, “I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.”Nature is highly adaptable, that means that we do not have to be rid of all technology, rather that we must have a balance which allows for regular human interaction to have the role it deserves in our daily life. Nature is not about total control, but rather the balance of everything. We have all of the modern apparatus and natural items wrestling for control, and so far nature is being surpassed by all of our advancements. Nature plays a vital role in our lives, and should never be forgotten. There is no black and white when it comes to technology but rather many shades of grey in between where we can evaluate where the line should be drawn to choose the balance which is needed. Being as we are the most intellectually sophisticated computers on this earth and there are 7 billion of us, the balance is definitely within our grasp. We are intelligent beings for a reason. To dream, be inspired, and make mistakes. Every mistake we make enriches our experiences and teaches us lessons fueling the quest for knowledge and what will be left behind after we are gone. If and when we do falter, the best part of being human is that we can get back up. We can pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off. There is a New Age coming. An Age where technology and human intellect go hand in hand. This is our bright new future; one of the two possibilities. The second is where all relationships between people disintegrate. If we fail to sustain our links then we fail as a race. Neither are definite futures, but either are possibilities. The Age that lies before us is in our hands. We, the founders of this New Age, will definitely be remembered. But how do we want to be remembered? The decision lies in our hands. We found this video to be inspirational because it’s easy to get lost in our own lives and to forget about the most important things in life, including nature. It provides motivation to try new things, to change and to leave our daily technology behind and to be more connected with the people around us.Questions to Reflect on:1. When was the last time you took time to observe and appreciate your surroundings?2. What do you think is the best way to share?3. How do your memories shape and cause you to evolve? ................
