Area tests of the Keymath 3 include:

Basic Concepts: Measures foundation knowledge and includes the sub tests: Numeration, Algebra, Geometry and Measurement and Data Management & Probability.

Operations: Measures computational skills and includes the sub tests: Mental Computation and Estimation, Addition and Subtraction and Multiplication and Division.

Applications: Measures a student’s ability to apply mathematical concepts and skills to solve problems and includes the sub tests: Foundations of Problem Solving and Applied Problem Solving.

Percentile Ranks: Percentile ranks refer to the number of other test taker’s scores that an individual’s score equals or exceeds. So, if a student has a percentile rank of 43 it means that he/she scored the same or better than 43 percent of his/her same aged peers who have completed this test. Percentile scores are not calculated for individual subtests, but their raw scores are used to determine the percentiles for the area tests. Ranges are reported for individual subtests.
