You are making Waukesha County a great place. Urgent NeedsLawn Mowing: Keep someone in their home by providing lawn mowing services. We’ll match you with someone in need in your area to cut their grass for the season! This is a great opportunity to help someone stay independent.Healthcare and Grocery Shopping Drivers: Help get someone to their doctor’s appointment or to the grocery store. We have to cancel 5-10 rides per week because of our shortage of drivers. Help provide a ride that keeps a senior or adult with disability living independently. If you have a couple hours to spare during the week, consider driving for Interfaith. Thank you to our current volunteer drivers for being so willing to help!Ongoing Grocery Shopping Volunteer: Help out a senior in need by becoming an ongoing grocery shopper with someone. We are seeking a volunteer who is free on Thursdays around 2:00pm to shop with a client in Muskego on a regular basis.Muskego Male Non-medical Respite: Help relieve a caregiver for a couple hours a week as they run essential errands or just take a break from the stress of caring for their loved one. Time spent with the client is strictly non-medical (no toileting, bathing, or helping with medication). Our current need is for a male willing to visit a gentleman in Muskego.Female Friendly Visitor in Brookfield: A friendly visitor is matched with an isolated senior and meets on a regular basis in the senior's home. Some seniors request to play games, but many just want a person to talk to. We are in need of a female in the Brookfield area willing to visit with a senior. Air is a program for caregivers and care receivers at the beginning to mid-stage of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia to participate in multi-sensory stimulation. We are in need of a volunteer to pick up and participate in the program with a woman in New Berlin. The Program takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. The next event date will be May 17th at All Saints Lutheran Church in Wales. Interfaith will provide bus fare while you are participating. Volunteer drivers should only display parking permits issued by Interfaith while driving a client. To register to volunteer, visit .Sussex, Hartland or Oconomowoc Senior Meal Drivers needed: Help deliver meals to homebound seniors living in Sussex and Hartland weekdays between the hours of 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Mileage reimbursement provided. Must be at least 18 years of age, and be able to show proof of car insurance and have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.Curative Care Network Visitor: Curative is looking for volunteers to come in and share their time with clients who have dementia. This might include helping with an activity, reading out loud, sharing a hobby, playing a game or music. Help is needed anytime Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm.Hope Center Receptionist: Receptionist wanted from 12:00 – 4:30 pm Wednesdays and Fridays at the Hope Center. The receptionist would answer phones and do data entry. Hope Center is seeking someone who can use the computer independently.Hope Center Clothing Shop Sorter: Are you looking for a way to get involved in the community? Hope Center has several openings for people to sort clothes Monday through Friday 8:00 am-12:00 pm, Wednesday through Friday 12:30 – 4:30 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Time and lengths of shifts are flexible!Shorehaven Volunteers: Shorehaven in Oconomowoc is looking for gift shop volunteers for two different shifts Thursdays (weekly or biweekly) 10 am -1 pm and 1 – 4 pm and thrift shop volunteers on Mondays from 9 am-12:30 pm or 12:30 – 4 pm. Duties will include, sorting donations, placing donations on the display floor, and assisting staff where needed.(Waukesha) Safe Babies Healthy Families Childcare Worker: Watch children while their mom is in a monthly class.
