November 1stSCCC sends out letter with updated Compensation Charts (available at sccc/). Letter includes any changes and recommendations for Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). (NOTE: Any changes are technically not in effect until passed by the Diocesan Convention.)The appropriate Chart (full-time or part-time) is to be downloaded and saved with a file name for the Church and/or cleric’s name.Whoever is filling out the Chart needs to know the cleric’s years of Credited Service (CS) as of January 1st of the following year. This figure is available from the Church Pension Fund, or based on the number of years the cleric has served in a FULL-TIME position since she/he was ordained. Part-time years are accredited as partial years (e.g. ? time is .5 CS, ? time is .75, etc.). Clergy receive a “Personal Information Summary” from CPG in September that includes this figure through June of that year. Add .5 to that number and input that in the red-outlined box on Tab 1 of the Compensation Chart. The Chart includes the Benefits premiums for the current and following year on Tab 2. Whoever is filling out the Chart needs to know which options were selected for the current year and what will be selected for the following year, if any. Reporting compensation for current year is filled in on Tab 3 and can be done as soon as all costs are known (utilities can be based on prior years’ actuals).Nov-DecTreasurer and/or Finance Committee develops the yearly congregation budget, which should include any increases to Cash Stipend due to CS years or COLA, insurance premiums, utilities or fair rental value (if housing is provided) or other benefits as calculated on Tab 4 of the Compensation Chart for following year.Dec-JanVestry approves budget for following fiscal year. There is an option to wait until Diocesan Convention approves any compensation changes to COLA or the chart itself, however all changes are retroactive from January 1st. Most congregations find it easier to make the changes starting January 1st. By March 1stAll four tabs of the Compensation Chart should be completed and save. The entire file should be email to the SCCC at SCCC@. The SCCC has created several examples using the Full-Time and Part-Time Charts that are available at sccc/ for review. Please feel free to contact any member of the SCCC if you have questions in regard to your specific circumstances or on how to complete the Chart.-889000By November 1stReceive letter from SCCC with new Compensation Chart and Benefits Schedule for following year.00By November 1stReceive letter from SCCC with new Compensation Chart and Benefits Schedule for following year.273050062604650020180306615430By March 1stAll four tabs on Compensation Chart are completed and saved.
