Fulfillment of Products

There are 2 options for fulfillment or shipping products to customers.

1.) Merchant fulfilled: You ship your own orders directly to customers DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) 2.) FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon): For further details please read below.

You can also do a combination of the 2 options. For example FBA for popular selling products and merchant fulfilled for the other products.

Fulfillment by

FBA can be a game changer for your Amazon business. The bulk of sales on Amazon come from Prime members and anything in FBA is `Prime' eligible. It's best to look at FBA as a Sales & Marketing tool for your popular products.

The following short video provides a great overview of the features & benefits: FBA Overview

FBA Pricing: Here is a link to the FBA Pricing. The FBA fees are tiered based on the product dimensions and weight. Standard-Size = any packaged Unit that is 20 lb. or less with dimensions 18"x14"x8" or less. Any Unit

exceeding any of these dimensions is Oversize. Link to: Learn more about Product Size Tiers You can type in your ASIN or SKU to estimate your FBA fees: FBA Calculator Storage pricing ? This link includes an overview + a calculator to estimate your fees: Inventory

Storage Fee

Key FBA Benefits Low FBA minimums - start with as low as 10 SKU's and increase more later (non-SSR). Amazon customers can upgrade to $3.99 overnight shipping or $3.99 gift wrapping ? at no expense

to you. FBA is low risk, if you want us to send any products back to you the cost is 50 cents each (includes

shipping) to a US Address.

Increase your odds of winning the "Buy Box". Real-time FBA inventory updates and reporting tools. Export to over 60 countries. See list

Shipping to FBA:

We have seen many of our international sellers using someone like, DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc. with great results for small shipments (less than approx. 150 kgs) into our Fulfillment Centers. To get some quotes, you can contact Amazon's preferred provider UPS by clicking here or call 1-913-693-6151 to speak with a representative who can help get you started. Again, we highly recommend starting out with small package carriers to get the process down.

While you can ship larger packages with DHL or UPS, if you are doing this often, it may make sense for you to use a freight forwarder for a "Formal Entry". For these types of shipments, you can use DHL, UPS or Samuel Shapiro & Company, Inc.

Samuel Shapiro & Company is a third party Freight Forwarder & Customs Broker and is not affiliated with Amazon or its affiliates in any way. They can give you a quote for door to door service. They will also help you purchase a continuous Import bond which allows you to import large shipments (like container loads). It costs $500 and usually takes about 3 weeks to receive. This will allow you to ship much larger shipments by sea.

You can email fbaadvantage@ and Shapiro can provide you with more information about their customs brokerage services.

Importer of record ? Amazon should be the `ships-to' party only and will NOT act as the Importer of Record/Consignee. This is VERY important. Your shipment will be stopped at customs if you list us as the importer of record.

What this means is that you need to either A) Work with a carrier that will do a mass clearance/act as the importer of record (most small package carriers do this) or B) Have your broker set you up as a `nonresident US importer' (this typically needs to be done if you are sending large shipments ex: +150kgs and they are being filed as a formal entry). It does take some initial set up if you go this route for example you would need to purchase a continuous bond but no additional work after the initial set up.

We have a variety of Fulfillment centers all over the country. That way we can fulfill your orders easily no matter where they come from in the US. We won't be able to tell which Fulfillment Center your products are going to until you have registered and set up your shipment. I suggest getting quotes to both the east and west coast.

Returns

We ask that you provide a local US address for customers to return products to. If this is not possible we ask that you provide free return service to your home country. If you don't have a return address in the US, you can rent a low cost PO Box from carriers. This gives the customers a consistent experience.

With FBA, customers can return the products back to our warehouses and we handle the customer service. For products returned to FBA that are damaged or unsellable, you can request those products be returned to you or destroyed. FBA is currently unable to export these products so you will need to provide a US address to have them shipped to.

Duty rates

Duty ? Whether shipping to Amazon's warehouse if using FBA or directly to the customer if fulfilling from the UK/Asia/AUS/SA the expectation is that duty is prepaid. You'll need to ship with DDP (delivered duty paid) incoterms and include this in the cost of your products.

When you are on the phone with your shipping company, ask them to help you determine Duty Rates; they should have this information readily available. If you would like to research this yourself; you can go to determine duty rates and click on the link Tariff Database.

One thing to note is that if you are shipping small value packages (less than $2,500 for most products) you may not need to pay duties. Please verify with your Courier Company or broker, and find more information at the CBP website. Information on filing an informal entry can be found here.

VAT

There is no VAT applicable to the US.

Controlled Products

Your product may have specific requirements (such as Sunglasses, Watches, beauty products, etc.). You can find out some information about these types of products by viewing it directly here.

The main U.S. customs website can be found here.

Tax

We are not tax experts and by all means consult yours; but in general, retailers are required to remit sales tax in the US wherever they have tax nexus (aka a tax obligation). Retailers have tax nexus wherever they have a "presence" (legal entity, store, warehouse, etc.). You control your tax settings in your Amazon account to collect taxes wherever you need to (and if you need to). Please consult your accountant for more details.

US sellers are required to provide Amazon with their Tax ID number and file a 1099-K form.

If you are a foreign seller with no offices in the US, you will file a W-8BEN form. This will let the IRS and Amazon know that you are exempt from US tax reporting. The responses you provide to the questions during the tax interview process will create the appropriate tax form on your behalf. For more information about Form W-8BEN, please visit IRS forms webpage. At the end of the interview you can review the form for accuracy.

Please consult with your tax expert for clarification.

Bank Account

You do not need a US bank account, you can enter in your UK, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India and Canadian bank details or bank details from accounts in *Eurozone countries. You can learn more by going to Amazon currency converter.

If you do NOT have an account in one of these countries, you can open an account with World First Currency Exchange. You can also go to their FAQ section to learn more.

(*Eurozone: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain)
