All this while enjoying fellowship and business connections with fellow Rotarians!Telluride Rotary Club - Recent Donations$10,000 to Kathmandu University/Dhulikhel Hospital in Nepal to meet an immediate post-quake need to access and provide healthcare in their 18 outreach clinics.$3,500 to fund 3 Rotary International sponsored Shelter Boxes sent to Nepal for immediate post-quake assistance. ?Each ShelterBox can support a family of 10 and provides shelter, warmth and dignity to disaster survivors.$2,000 to the Tibetan Water Project, for a water reservoir in a remote village.$4,800 to continue funding 2 nurses in a remote part of Nepal.$2,200 to continue funding International Midwife Assistance for delivery room instruments in Uganda.$500 youth scholarship to train with a master – American Songbook Festival.$500 for the “Artist in the School” program.Co-sponsoring annually (with Wilkinson Library) to train teenagers in CPR.Scholarship to fund a boy in need to attend the Boy Scouts summer camp.Funding the regional Rotary International partner “Dolly Parton Imagination Library” - providing a free monthly book for every child ages 0-5 in San Miguel County.Youth: in 2014-2015 the Telluride Rotary Club locally supported 3 college scholarships, 8 students of the month, 3 students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards training camp (RYLA), 4 inbound and 3 outbound Rotary Youth Exchange Students (RYE).$500 to our local Angel Baskets (food baskets for the needy in the community).Telluride Rotary - Community Service Projects Over the YearsTelluride Rotary funded the first public swimming pool in Telluride Town Park, so the local youth could have swimming lessons.Telluride Rotary funded the grant writer to create the Telluride Medical Center.Telluride Rotary has funded college scholarships for over 20 years.Telluride Rotary helped fund the Imagination Station in Telluride Town Park.Telluride Rotary has sponsored 4-5 students annually to go to the off-site Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - Rotary's leadership training program for young people.Telluride Rotary funded an RV dump station for Telluride's summer tourists.Telluride Rotary funded a GED testing center for the Univ Centers of the San Miguel.Telluride Rotary sponsors an annual political “Candidates Forum”.Telluride Rotary has supported the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.Telluride Rotary has helped build up and has donated over $30,000 to the Telluride Adaptive Ski Program.Telluride Rotary, along with banking partners, has donated dictionaries to every third grade student in Telluride and the West End for over a decade.Telluride Rotary generously supports the local Angel Baskets program every year.Telluride Rotary has sponsored (with a cash award) a Telluride High School Student of the Month for over 12 years.Telluride Rotary has raised over $20,000 in the past 3 years with the annual Red Ball Express. These funds have been primarily used for youth activities and non-profits in the Telluride region.Telluride Rotary has run the Rotary Booth at the annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival for over 30 years - raising over $53,000 in the past 3 years for local high school scholarships and other charitable contributions to the community.
