My step one Experience (255)*kaplan physio and biochemistery 3 years ago during med school* pathoma 2 mo, micro sketchy and Kaplan for immunity 1MO*uw offline 6 mo alongside FA and BnB/DIT when faced with tough subjects , neuro images in heigh yeild book , 100 cases of fisher*uw online was supposed to be 3 mo but extended dt corona I solved uw till last mo before exam)*make uw flash cards online or offline I prefer online, sort them as ( micro, path , Anatomy, Tables, Illustrations , grafs , images, .. etc. )*I read FA many times maybe 5 or 6 but the best ones when I read it alongside solvingNBME13 16mistakes 11/11/2019NBME22 246. 11/28/2019Subscribed online UWNBME21 251 03/07/2020NBME19 6 mistakes 03/11/2020NBME16 12mistakes 03/15/2020NBME20 23mistakes 04/01/2020NBME24 255 04/08/2020uwsa1 273 04/15/2020CORONA GAAAAAAAP: During this period I solved Amboss (500Q) ans UW biostat and RX (200q) I solved the subject I thought I am weak in ( biostat , Repro , ethics ), Reviewed UW flash cards that I made.NBME15 263 06/09/2020NBME17 259 06/23/2020NBME23 249 06/28/2020uwsa2 264 07/08/2020NBME18 257 07/09/2020CORONA GAAAAAP: Did the marked and wrong Q in UW and the new Q was a great concentrated way of reviewing tough concepts in a short period of time, also did wrong Q in nbme and rapid review pages in FAEXAM 255 08/03/2020* for nbme it took me one day solve one day reviewThe night before the exam was the toughest night in my whole life so:1- Never never never study that day2- Wake up early so you can go to sleep by 9 pm3- if u couldn't sleep for 1 or 2 hours np I couldn't till 11.30 but then fall asleep till 4.30 (5hs deep sleep is more than enough)4- Never stress ur self about sleeping sometimes conc. about getting asleep may coz anxiety and insomnia5- If necessary take hypnotics (I never did it) but u must try them for one or 2 weeks before to avoid sleeping in the exam next day* In the morning 6.30 pm I took a lager cup of caffeine (I was caffeine free for the last week to Up regulate the receptors)*in the exam relax it will be very simple all u need is your self-confidence and assure yourself it is just like and uw block or nbme (my exam was 50%, 50% ) , self-confidence is imp, hesitation will cost u precious time in the exam )*I Took with me many foods but only ate fruits ( apple, Apricot ,...) and Red bull after 4th or 5th block when I felt I am sleepy ( u must try a mo before as it may coz allergy )* In the break time go straight to the bathroom to pee, never never review ur ans it will cost u time.Mistakes during Preparation:1-never waste time in depression or self-flagellation or worrying about the future usually ur brain behave this way to turn u away from ur study specially when u face a tough subject ( take ur time in tough subjects and assure yourself all this time will pay off)1*-when faced by tough subject or get crowded with ur schedule, np make another schedule and another one if u have (everyone has his way in studying and will have to take his time) try different way of studying different source ask friend or fb but never never never through ur books away and waste time in depression2- never never never compare yourself to other people, everyone has his own way of studying and memorizing the only thing can assure u are in the right track is ur nbmes scores and if it wasn't as u wish try different way of studying diff source,.. etc.3- never ever think as a perfectionist; usmle is all about continuous learning, no one will answer all the Q correctly and even +260 ppl make dump mistakes in the real exams and forgot basic FA facts it is all normal as a human being. New Q and ideas will always pop up in UW , nbme , etc.. so don't think less of yourself if u make many mistakes , learn the new concepts and if u have a great defect in certain subject make flash cards or use one already made, solve RX, Amboss, ... etc. ................
